That was a real WTF decision. I enjoyed watching his ECU teams.

As a Husker fan I'll go with Solich. Had a bad year but looked to have corrected some issues and had a really good year in 2003.

Of course had Nebraska not made the worse head coaching hire possible the blow wouldn't have been so bad. Callahan was a disaster on multiple levels.

Had they hired Pelini to succeed Solich I don't believe the Huskers would have fallen as far as they did.

Well, LSU's irrational firing of Les Miles 4 games into a season is the poster child for poor decision making.

I still remember when him and Lincoln riley were temp. HC/OC at Texas Tech during the Alamo Bowl in 09 vs MSU. I really respected how he coached that day and hoped he'd get a shot somewhere.

Only because that was too late, he should have been let go after the 2015

That's a separate issue but if LSU fired Miles too soon, why isn't he coaching right now? By contrast how long was Richt out of work, a couple of days?

Les may be waiting for Harbaugh to go back to the NFL then he can have Michigan and be able to get the type of players he needs to run his offense

Nothing against LSU but Michigan has had much more success at producing QBs

Since 1990 when Lloyd Carr began to change Michigan Michigan has produced 7 QBs drafted in the NFL.

Of the top of my head LSU had

Rohan Davey
Matt Mauck
Matt Flynn
Jamarcus Russell
Zach Mettenberger

All of then spent time in the league.

Producing qbs doesn't equal successful NFL starts. The colleges didn't have any hand in their development after college.

They already passed on him twice why would they take at 65 after he's been fired? Also how was he not able to get guys to run his offense at LSU? His offense is outdated that's why it didn't work.

. Even when LSU was bad we were able to find some very good to serviceable QBs, well until Les Miles.

So? I don't care about pro starts for former QBs. How meant starts do Bama QBs have? Since 1990 they've won 5 NCs. I'll take that over more pro starts. LSU had plenty of good college QBs before Les. Even DiNardo signed at least 3 in 5 years
