Looks like you bought what ESPN said. Kragthorpe did not inherit any mess when he took the job. That was nothing but an excuse

Lloyd Carr

That's one of those that seems easy to lump in with Fulmer and Solich as an example of great consistency that a school pissed away. However, they had to drag him back when '06 fell apart at the end. I don't think his heart was in it and Appy State and an arse pounding from Oregon happened. Sure, they rallied to beat Heisman Tebow, but you don't recover from Appy State. People also say Carr mailed it in with respect to recruiting at the end, which is part of what killed Rich Rod. Finally, there were nagging rumors at the end that Carr had Parkinson's or something.

Wrong ISU coach. The Cyclone coach that should have never been fired was Dan McCarney. The guy had a whopping .397 winning percentage (56-85) which is really good for Iowa State.

Charlie Weiss. Man, I was sure he was about to turn the corner.

So Les Miles who won more than any coach in LSU history did not win enough to keep his job

Let that sink into your mind for a minute

Brian Kelly barely has a better record than Charlie Weiss

Yet rocket31 claims ND has elite coaches

Gary Moeller. I mean who doesn't get too drunk and create a scene at a restaurant or jail,

Pat Dye. He brought Auburn back

Charlie Pell. He didn't deserve to get fired.

If LSU actually thinks they have improved by firing Les and hiring Coach O than LSU is a lot stupider than I thought they were

That's 2 different topics and they are not mutually exclusive. It was time for Miles to go, the program was clearly sliding and while he did a great job overall his inability in 12 freaking years to sign and develop a HS QB is just ridiculous.

Now that does not mean O was an upgrade. I think (as do many LSU fans) it was a terrible hire. Overall there is little to no chance he'll come anywhere close to Miles record but that doesn't mean Miles should stay indefinitely.

Richt was the coach of UGA for like 16 years.

You can argue it was stupid to fire him, but it certainly wasn't 'early'

Those 3 clowns should have been fired years before they were.
But if you want to go Tulane:
Bennie Ellender
Vince Gibson (Tulane fired a coach who had 2 winning seasons out of 3 and went 2-1 against LSU; and then replaced him with the worst coach in Tulane history).

He and BC got hosed because the AD wanted to be a hardass about the Jets interview.

Why do you think the guy was never rehired at any real college job ever again
I had to google his name to see what became of his career and was quite shocked to see that the only university who hired him was Georgia State

This is a guy who won 20 games in two years and had Boston College #1 in the country at one time in 2007

The Les Miles dilemma will be the most misunderstood coaching fiasco ever.

Not "fired" but basically ran out of town.
