Based on all the facts you have proving that assumption?

It literally just got passed up in favor of one of the brand new stadiums he was talking about.

that's to be expected. you build a new stadium you get a superbowl. you dont necessarily get a second (or third or fourth, etc) one though like new orleans.

With the NFL opening up the prospect of cold cities getting to host I think it is going to take away more from NO.

I live here, I'd love to host another Super Bowl, and I really hope the city doesn't have to build a new stadium soon. But I've been recently to the dome, and it ain't that nice.

It isn't the shithole this cat is saying, but it's kind of a middle of the road stadium. Location is obviously the key here

Eta: other new stadiums are being built, like SF, the dome may get passed up next time too

This. New Orleans will continue to get Super Bowls with the Superdome, they just won't get them every 4-5 years like they did back in the 80s/90s.

In even walking distance to almost anywhere you need to be when a big event

Psh, thats a long arse walk to Harrahs or Bourbon St (etc) especially for the fat arse culture of today.

Not saying the location is horrible, but it is certainly not perfect.

About a 12-15 minute walk.

Please the walk is a solid 20 minutes especially when stopping for traffic lights on every corner (it is 16 with no traffic according to google)

And hardly anyone does the walk - tis why there is a barrage of cabs and pedicabs picking up passengers after every dome event.

And forget walking to Frenchman St - that'd take you 30

Pretty soon with all the world class venues being built N.O. will not be hosting major events just because of the location.

Lol. No. Show me one major city that has the room in the middle of town to build a brand new stadium and enough parking to hold 80,000 people

Are you actually balking about a potential difference of five minutes time? And a 20-30 minute walk, oh he humanity!

of course, but its far from perfect - which was my only point. MOST people are still going to need to cab.

people ITT act like the dome is like a block away from Jackson Sq or some shite.

I don't care if it ever hosts another Super Bowl I don't think we need a new stadium.

Jerryland is a very nice stadium, but the place has 0 atmosphere. It's not a good venue for college games IMO
