I've been to Houston twice recently and had an awesome time. Not comparing it to other Texas cities but that's really the only Texas experiences I've had and both were a lot of fun.

ya, the location is a big part of what makes it great....frick having to take a cab or drive to the stadium.

how many cities have their stadiums in walking distance of downtown?

My wife's from Houston, but prefers SA. Probably because it's more catered to her tastes as a tourist

I've never had a bad time in H-town, though.

I went to SA for my spring break this year.

It mostly sucked, but I think that was mainly due to the fact that it was cold and raining every day we were there.

Sucked because I was really looking forward to it based on how I heard it was a great tourist town.

Also, maybe they were doing some kind of work with the river (cleaning? idk something) because it looked really shitty. Like a milky grey color.

I feel like I just was there at a really bad time.

I'm biased so Houston will always be the best in TX for me but the area from San Antonio to Austin is awesome and I would recommend checking it out. Tons to do and great food, I always make a point to make a trip when I'm back home

What about Miami? That stadium (whatever it's called these days) is nothing special.

Damn, that's shitty luck There's been a couple of memorable floods down there before, but the place is usually perpetually in good weather.

And by "good," I mean "hot as balls," of course

Perhaps. It's usually a murky brown.

It's not a picturesque river though, even on a good day, I can't front More about the atmosphere along it I guess.

Miami is pretty bad too, very similar to New Orleans where it's a great host city in need of a stadium upgrade

Nice I'll have to check them out. I've been to Dallas as well but it was just for one night to see a concert so I didn't get to do much going out. I have been very impressed with the food though but I live in BR so pretty much anything is an improvement.

Funny, because the only other time I've been to SA was when I was a little kid and according to the news it was the hottest recorded day in SA history

Yea I probably would have gotten a much different experience if it wasn't shitty weather. I stayed right on the river walk. The hotel was pretty nice.

Dallas is nice, just way too spread out for my taste. A long weekend hitting up SA, New Braunfels, and Austin is the way to go

Oh yeah the digs along the River are top notch. I haven't even stayed there (when my wife and I got married we stayed a few miles from downtown to avoid getting priced out). Planning to stay in one of the Riverwalk hotels next time we visit, though.

Never really went downtown much as a resident.

Except not at all because the stadium is a dump and far as shite from the main attractions of Miami

It was shockingly cheap. Like less than 200/night. And like I said, the place was pretty damn nice. They must have been expecting shite weather when we booked a few weeks out

Definitely.

The stadium itself is actually a dump.

It just went under a massive facelift in the past few years. It's almost brand new for half price of building a brand new stadium. The almost being the actual age of the Superdome.

It's no Jerry World but damn, it's no slouch either.
