If we could ban expensive private schools from giving free scholarships, problem would be solved.

Must be nice to have deep pockets.
This is BS
“Catholic High School in Baton Rouge has been sanctioned following a recruiting investigation by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA).
Catholic High won the 2020 State Division I championship in football.
In a vast departure from prior practices, the LHSAA refuses to publicly discuss the sanctions it has levied against the affluent private school.
In the past, the LHSAA held news conferences to discuss sanctions against other area football programs including Southern Lab and McKinley High School.“
actually this has happened before, being a private organization they are not bound by information requests NOR are PRIVATE schools... SU Lab and McKinley oare public. Any press conference publicly disclosing sanctions would have come with approval or from the school itself.
or when forfeits are involved the other schools are notified that games were forfeited

but yet nothing is actually happening as far as sanctions
The article mentioned no postseason ban and Catholic said they agreed to them
I’m thinking an undisclosed fine

While he would not confirm specifics of the Catholic High School (CHS) investigation, LHSAA President Eddie Bonine did tell WAFB-TV that Catholic High administrators have accepted the secretive LHSAA sanctions and do not plan to appeal.
”Any and all information surrounding this situation will come from CHS,” Bonine said Monday.
Bonine did add, however, that the sanctions against CHS do not include any post-season bans and no student athletes are being ordered to move or transfer back to “their zoned school of attendance.”
This might be the end of the LHSAA… hammer public schools and let the world know because they don’t keep records well, but slap Catholic on the wrist for something they knew what they were doing. BESE, the Legislature, and JBE are watching

His son left catholic because he didnt play. Poor take.

social media is already abuzz with the fact that this is being kept secret while McKinley & SU Lab were publicly chastised
Since Catholic is not appealing the ruling and accepted their sanctions, there's nothing to discuss in public. McKinley and SLab chose to appeal their rulings before the LHSAA in an open forum.

Documents provided by a source to WAFB-TV show instances of Catholic High staff being instructed to scout specific middle school teams and youth organizations for potential recruits
Dutchtown moved from the River Parishes district to the EBR district 10 years and were kicking Catholic’s arse on the regular.
Then “suddenly” the best football players from Prairieville Middle were no longer making it to Dutchtown.
Hmmmmmmm….

Are they a public school?
I ask because I know that evangel always recruited but they always made the argument that they could do that because they were private and you didnt have to live in that school district.
What would be the rules on a school like evangel doing that? I know for a fact they were doing it in 2003-2007

Evangel could only legally recruit from Huntington’s district. Recruiting from any other school’s district would have been against LHSAA rules

But somehow Dutchtown ended up with Lacy and Collins as well as Cushenberry who is from Iberville parish
Posted on 6/21/21 at 1:04 pm to AtlantaLSUfan
Mckinley got in more trouble than CHS because MCK had no medical records or physicals for more than half of their athletes. Safety issues should always be more important than recruiting violations. Get out of here with the false equivalencies, obviously Catholic "recruits" for football, it was a matter of time before they got caught but dont be stupid.

doesn't matter to the armed twitter brigade
all they see is high end religious private school gets in trouble and everything is hush-hush while low end public schools get in trouble and there are press conferences outlining the infractions and coaches outwardly named

Poor example
Lacy grew up around the corner from DTHS. Collins was in the DTHS zone as well.
The Cushenberry family name has many student-athletes who played for DTHS. They are a very large family with many kin in the surrounding area.

West Monroe’s HC was suspended 4 games for sending a text to a player that was on his team and in WM feeders for 12.5 of his 13 years in school. Kid lived with his Mom, was sent to his Dad for a semester at Bastrop. Was supposed to be coming back to wm the entire time. Just needed to be with his Dad for a while. LHSAA popped the coach for asking when he was coming back.
