Doing quick math if he played till 35 which is 7 more years and averaged 1400 yards a season (who knows if they add more games) he would be number 2 behind Smith roughly 1,000 short. Maybe play a little longer than he should rack up some yards late like Adrian Peterson and it’s possible. He is well on pace for more than 1400 this year. Obviously he has to be extremely lucky with health and hope to stay in a Tennessee offense that long to allow it. Odds are certainly against it but he could be the only one to have a chance at it ever again the way the league has changed.

Does he have 53 kids like Peterson that he has to play until the age of 40 to support?

No, but Leonard Fournette has a legit chance if he can average 1400 yards over the next 7 years and then put together one last low key retirement season of 4382 yards.

With what players know about CTE and the money they make now, I don’t think we’ll see a lot of players continue to stretch their careers

Does he have the talent? Probably. Health, opportunities, and effectiveness as the athleticism decreases are all huge, huge question marks that seem incredibly difficult to assume success on right now.

I'd like to take this moment to point out that two players in the list of the top 50 have an average of 5 or more YPC for their career. Jim Brown at 5.2 and Barry Sanders at 5.0.

Brown is also the only RB in the top 50 to average over 100 yards per game @ 104.3 YPG. Sanders is very close though @ 99.8 YPG.

Brown and Sanders were simply amazing.

Is he going to get 1,400 yards this year? That’s a lot to average for 7 years with 5 of them being after turning 30.

There's a better chance of you playing for the Titans.

1400 is a high bar, especially in a pass happy league. Henry is a damn good back, but I don’t think there’s any way he hits that mark. Emmitt and Barry were amazing, if nothing else, for their durability and toughness.

1400 a year till he's 35??? Lol that's funny.

Who is the last guy to hit 1400 rushing yds in his 30's 5 straight times?? Never happened before i don't think.
