Oh, you mean him taking shots while there is still time on the clock? Did you want the Mavs to hold the ball for 24 seconds and then just give it back to the Lakers?

Debating what he deserves, and debating what he will probably get are two different threads

During the 80s plays like this happened in almost every game but you guys want to suspend Bynum for an ENTIRE year?

That was, oh, about 30 years ago. You could also hand check in the 80s (Jordan > Kobe, by the way). You used to could murder black folk without people making a big stink about it, too. Try to keep up with the times there, Lakers.

HEY! When you can't compete on the court it's best to go street ball and try to intentionally end another person's career! Hurray for being a REAL man, right dog?

there is a difference between a hard foul and a cheap shot. I'm all for hard fouls being allowed in the NBA. If Bynum knocked him on his arse while contesting his shot, that is just basketball. It is the penalty for driving the lane. Throwing an elbow at someone driving the lane is not a hard foul, it is a cheap shot

What bynum did was fricking dirty.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Make the penalties HURT, and those guys will start thinking twice before doing that stupid shite.

What are you talking about? The guy who said it in the first place pointed it out in the exact same post that you quoted from. Kinda makes it hard to say anything when the guy does it intentionally.

No such thing as running up the score in the pros. Different when Florida blows out Sisters of the Poor or in high school

Yeah--but guess what the difference is here genius?

Back then, players could defend themselves and each other. Somebody cheap shots your teammate, you cheap shot him and his. Then a fight breaks out. Everybody goes home. See Kevin Mchale vs Kurt Rambis for example.

Now, if somebody cheap shots your teammate, you can't even stand up off of your own bench. You just have to take it.

These days, somebody can just take your legs out on the way to the hoop, watch you crack your head open, and walk to the showers laughing, knowing they'll simply get a fine and maybe a five to ten game suspension.

Bynum knew he could all but get away with it when he forearmed little man. All the players know it.

Thank the true bitch for the current state of the NBA-David Stern. All because of his rule changes stemming from him and some fans' overreaction to any and all NBA altercations.

And before you say anything, Stern created rules that prevent teammates from defending each other long before the Artest incident.

That's why Bynum needs to receive a stiff penalty--because since Stern has decreed that teammates can't defend one another, then the league damn sure better.

Understand now?

Well, we've been best friends for over 30 years now. Guess he didn't get the memo.

Ironically, we fought the first day we met after playing touch football in the street. Been tight ever since.

But to your point, if I had just backed up all of my friends growing up, and went along with everything they did and tried to get me to do, I probably wouldn't be here now--like a lot of them.

As a matter of fact, I know I wouldn't be here now.

But hey, you stay hard--it'll make you a great father.

What he did is simply un-acceptable. There's no questionable gray area. His malicious intent to seriously harm JJ is clear as day.

Make Bynum hurt and kick him out for at least a year. What a piece of trash.

no....this is a dumb post and should be whacked.

Once upon a time playoff basketball was regularly that rough. Berea deserved it for driving the lane when up 35 fricking points.

I can't say I wouldn't have later him out in the same situation.

3-5 game suspension at best. Mav'S fans are pussies
