do the Sabres and Bills have the same or different owners?

Same owners. Terry and Kim Pegula.

Why do the people always approve the tax hikes then? Are you saying people shouldn’t be listened to and votes should be ignored?

They don't always approve them. San Diego was the most recent example.

Also, sometimes these tax hikes get hidden in other state bills that voters don't have an opportunity to vote on.

This works if you allow the city 100% control of ticket prices and 100% of the profit from ticket sales ??

I’m sure the fans in Buffalo are going to fall all over themselves to give the bills what they want. They seem like the one fan base where this might actually go over halfway decently.

I believe when the Packers first started renovations back in the mid-90s for Lambeau it only received 53% in favor of the tax hike.

Wait till Los Angelians find out how much "They" paid for Kroenkes stadium and complex down the road, a new Mayor who doesn't like Billionaires, will check the books and almost faint at the lost revenue, tax breaks, etc ala, were not paying for the stadium.

Ownership must not care if they have to move?

They don’t. That’s the leverage. They can court a handful of other cities willing to foot the bill.

Wonder how this will play out since owners no longer have that “I’ll move to Los Angeles!” threat.

There’s ALWAYS a move to Los Angeles threat.

Why stop at 2 teams for a metro area of 13 million?

Replace “Los Angeles” with St. Louis, San Diego, or (in this case) Toronto.

Manufacturing incentives have to outweigh giving money to already rich sports owners for stadiums

Maybe. But teams already left 2 of those cities (and moved to LA) in part because they didn’t get new sweetheart deals for a new stadium.

If they didn’t do it for the Chargers why would SD agree to do it for the Bills?

And you might as well throw in London and Mexico City
