Takes like these come from an unawareness of their value to society, born from them being vastly overpaid.
The players are entertainers. If the product is not entertaining, why would people waste their hard earned money - even $25 - to come watch? Fans don’t owe these people shite.

You could change colors tomorrow but Gayle would still be owner, Dumars would still be GM, and Looney/Jones/TM3/Bey/Fears is still your starting lineup. Nobody is coming to the stadium because of uniform colors.

No franchise run as poorly as the pelicans who has a 75% injured hoot rat as an all star knocking up skanks left and right is going to have a major following.
