TCU beat more ranked teams than Texas last year.

how many of those ranked teams were non-BCS schools playing scrub schedules?

So the only tough schedule is the SEC right, because if an ACC team won the NC you would bitch. IF Cincy or ND won you would bitch...

I am not a Boise fan at all, but you have to give them credit for doing what they have done. They have made themselves a player in this and hold the cards...which is hard for people to accept.

eventually after they get exposed hopefully by VT, they decide to step up to the plate.

Like I said earlier they remind me of Florida State when Bowden first built them up.

um not really, FSU said anybody anytime anywhere and went out there and kicked arse. Boise is pussy footing around the teams they are willing to play.

depends on how they performed

if an ACC team rips through their schedule and is super-talented, i would not bitch

I've never understood the Boise hate, either, for what it's worth.

If they are that big of a fraud, then they'll be exposed when it counts.

So Boise goes to DC hammers Tech, who ends up winning ACC and hammers everyone else by 14 or more, theyre not good?

See that's where we part company...BSU, I'm in agreement...TCU not so much. You're putting too much stock in conferences just because of those three letters. Other than the SEC, name a BCS conference that is head and shoulders above the MWC...there isn't one.

No they didnt, when Bowden first built FSu they played mostly in Tallahassee. It was after the 2 Orange Bowls that he started playing people. You will try to use UF and Miami as examples of playing people. Miami was trying to drop the program and UF was awful, it wasnt until Wayne Peace and Sloan got there in the 80's that UF was good.

i just don't see that happening, they will be walking into a hornets nest 90k people 80k of which will be VT fans. Look how lost they looked vs UGA a few years ago. Probably why they didn't want to make two trips to Nebraska

you support that mentality?

ok then by that rational 2 fiesta bowls later for Boise why aren't they taking the approach to make multiple trips on the road to take on the big boys. They are scared and know the wear and tear will take its toll and expose them.

It's probably been mentioned already in this thread, but Boise State is awful against BCS conference teams in the regular season since 1999 except against Oregon and Oregon State. (Both who should go off themselves for it.)

1999 (10-3)
@UCLA (4-7) L 38-7

2000 (10-2)
@Arkansas (6-6) L 38-31
@Washington State (4-7) L 42-35

2001 (8-4)
@South Carolina (9-3) L 32-13
Washington State (10-2) L 41-20

2002 (12-1)
@Arkansas (9-5) L 41-14

2003 (13-1)
@Oregon State (8-5) L 26-24

2004 (11-1)
Oregon State (7-5) W 30-27

2005 (9-4)
@Georgia (10-3) L 48-13
@Oregon State (5-6) L 30-27

2006 (13-0)
Oregon State (10-4) W 42-14

2007 (10-3)
@Washington (4-9) L 24-10

2008 (12-1)
@Oregon (10-3) W 37-32

2009 (14-0)
Oregon (10-3) W 19-8

Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Bowden got 1 for 1 though not 2 for 1. Mostly due to recruiting and weather. That is the advantage Boise cant use.

The Boise team isnt the one people should be worried about in 3 to 5 years anyway...

It will be SMU as they are going to get rolling and being in Dallas, they have what they need to become a player in the pond again.

My pick is Boise will do a BYU and fade then come back to be the annoying fly every so often and regional program. But SMU being in Dallas has a chance to be steady and solid.
