My point exactly then...the Big 12 being a BCS conference doesn't make it automatically head and shoulders better.

Like I've said, I'm in complete agreement about BSU...but the fact that they're not in a BCS conference is irrelevant to me. I would feel the same about a team in a weak BCS conference with a weak OOC schedule getting into the title game. They'd be effectively working the system just as BSU does.

he'd have to change his philosophy in a big way

if he tried to do at LSU what he's doing at BSU, we'll become a slightly better version of Colorado

Boise has basically been pussy footing its way around

that's seriously more legit OOC teams than BSU has played...maybe ever

yea but what he has would not last in the weekly grind of a BCS conference. Take that team put them in the BCS conference and they are beat up half way through the year.

This is unture. Bowden started at FSU in 1976, his first 3 years they played 5 home games and 6 road. His first home game as FSU coach was on OCTOBER 2, 1976, it was their 4th game and week earlier they were at Oklahoma.

That's what I've been trying to say also...it's really no comparison. And even the games that were at home were against a lot of quality competiton, which BSU can't say.

You're welcome. Boise State is a joke.

FWIW, just out of curiousity, I looked at your list some more (and even added the bowl games against BCS teams in that time, in which Boise is 2-1, so I helped them out a little). Boise's combined winning percentage from 99-09 is 86%. Their BCS opponents' combined winning percentage is 62%, nearly 25% worse. Boise's record, though, in those games, is 6-11. Says it all.

apples and oranges. Teams like A&M or Colorado who have struggled of late in the Big 12 get vastly better talent that mid to bottom level MWC and WAC teams.

I'm talking TCU and/or Utah...either of those teams rolls the ACC pretty much any of the last several years.

TCU played 2 ACC teams last year

16 point win at a horrible UVA team

4 point win against Clemson

yeah, I don't know what that guy was talking about. In Bosie's defense that type of scheduling would not be feasible today. In the 70's and 80's there were more independents and teams in conferences were usually playing 6 or maybe 7 conference games

Just saying, it's a horribly weak league (in football obviously). 9 teams with 5 or more losses.

TCU dominated that game...it was 30-0 late in the 4th

4 point win against Clemson

that won their division

Look at FSU schedule 76-77

Played Clemson, Auburn, MSU, Miami, Florida, USM, etc in Tallahassee

K State was a pushover then so it didnt matter where they played them.

In 77 there 2 losses were San Diego St at SDSU and Miami at home.

yeah no doubt...and it's pretty much economically impossible for a program to be an independent outside of ND and a few others...UT perhaps.

then look at 79
he played 4 road games and 1 nuetral game and only 3 games out of florida

they lost to ou in orange bowl.

Bowden made that scedule.

The only ranked team they played was Miss State, who was 20 at the time and ended up being 3-8, until losing Orange Bowl.

MSU, Auburn, USM, UF and Miami were all home and homes for them in those two years. Not to mention they played OU in Norman.

Obi I will give you the 80's have already conceeded that, but when they first started at FSU he played at home and scheduled as such.
