why don't they just PAY BCS TEAMS TO GO THERE?

500k-750k will get you a solid top 20-40 opponent usually

they don't have the revenue like a legit team. Their 30k stadium just can't produce it. Big boy programs don't play their home games on a high school field

Boise would have to come to their school twice for them to make the reutn trip.

Has Boise said whether they'll do 2 for 1s? Just wondering because Texas has done those with quite a few schools...Wyoming, UTEP, Rice.

I mean, there's probably a little bit of BS from both sides on this one. I mean, in a one off situation at home, BSU would be no pushover for anyone and anything could happen as opposed to the teams I mentioned above where Texas could have left the first string at home and still won in a blowout. Hell, if you believe the rumors, LSU turned down a chance to open with Rutgers in 08, instead opting for Appy St. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that teams could have turned down BSU...I just doubt it's to the extent that they claim.

Worked twice though...

Boise has been to 2 BCS games and won both of them...that is one thing you cant take away from them.

the BCS caved and gave an easy road to non-BCS schools

Boise has beaten 1 BCS team in bowls since the 2004 season. you can't take that away from them either

SFP you have to get to a BCS game first. The goal of every team, unless its an independant, is to win the CONFERENCE. That is the first goal at start of every doubles camp.

not trying to. I've accepted that one nonBCS team will get an easy road to a money game every season, and that's fine as long as they don't get in to the NCG.

Now if a team plays a legit schedule it's a different situation

They build their program the right way which cannot be said of Boise.

Really. Not the right way? So going for a I-AA school to winning a BCS bowl game in 8 years in one of the least populated and most isolated states in America without braking any rules is not right?

I'm sure they're crying in their two Fiesta Bowl trophies that they were quite impressive enough because of the blue turf.

well BSU plays in a completely shitty conference, and if this is truly their goal, then they're small-minded

oh, and teams from real conferences go to BCS games if they win their conference

TCU also played a bullshite schedule and is not a BCS team playing a real schedule

TCU has also beaten OU (before BSU did) and nobody sucks their dick about it

I am not a Boise fan at all, but you have to give them credit for doing what they have done. They have made themselves a player in this and hold the cards...which is hard for people to accept.

Like I said earlier they remind me of Florida State when Bowden first built them up.

ETA:

This is the new Matt Ryan argument for SFP

You just said I was wrong, without giving evidence why.

I can not provide evidence that disproves an abstraction. You said LSU was flat due to nerves. Its up to you to prove a statement, not for someone else to ask you too. In any event you can't prove it. Its not something that can be quantified or measured. If LSU starts bad in week 2 vs Vandy, you would more than likely not ascribe it to nerves, but rather just playing like crap or bad coaching or something, but because its a game with a special name, you think something more powerful is going on to fit your narrative.

they game the system

they avoid playing a tough schedule

they have the attitude of the entitlement generation. they expect things handed to them they didn't earn

they also hired a PR firm to bitch indirectly via the media

BSU is exactly the type of program that a true American should hate
