This.

Well the story indicates that despite a drug sniffing dog, they found no weed. So again, how could the cops "Smelled" it to establish probable cause
One of the gals could’ve had weed in their bag prior to that trip.
Also, did the driver give consent?

Does Georgia need suspicion to search?
Is Georgia some special State that doesn't need to abide by Constitutional and Supreme Court jurisprudence?
The "we can search and seize and do whatever we want for no reason" State...woo-hoo!

Why the frick are you asking me, I never said it did. But, now that you mention it, rural Georgia, black people, an illegal search. Sometimes a duck is a duck.

I don't disagree. Most cops suck balls and none of them are your friends.

No drugs were found? How could the bus smell like weed?
You’ve never passed a brother at the store who smelled like straight arse weed. May not have any weed on him that moment but he was lighting up pretty recently.

Did you really just type that?

And the likelihood of them lighting up beforehand is slim to none.
The cops basically admitted they didn't have probable cause.

Man I'm also totally shocked certain posters are avoiding this thread.
Shame they don't have the balls to admit the cops were wrong.

So just a quick recap now that other articles and body cam footage has come out:
Legit traffic stop. (Update-not legit)
No k9 hit, no consent to search, no probable cause.
Searched private possessions (despite sherrif claiming otherwise) and bus storage anyway.
Found jack shite!
Don't give a frick what race they were. Cops overstepped then tried to say they didn't. They deserve any heat that comes their way.
Eta: nevermind, not a legit traffic stop. Georgia law excludes busses for the "no trucks in left lane" law. So cops basically fricked up every step A-Z.

Maybe, just maybe, the bus smelled like weed?
And the cops can tell that from seeing it drive by how exactly?
This is exactly the type of shite (cops pulling vehicles over for tick tack reasons them “smelling” weed that needs to end

This is true, but it does disproportionately affect black people. And if the cops didn’t know they were black before they pulled it over, they obviously did after and could maybe exercise a little common sense and awareness of the current political climate and send the bus on its way without searching everyone’s bags

I got this.
Folks, the State Troopers were just trying to meet some attractive young college ladies. That's why they stopped the bus - just some wanna-be Romeos trying to make some new lady friends.

Why would Narcs being running random traffic stops.
While not unique to poc it's definitely more frequent since they make for easier targets for a system that is driven by forfeiture and socioeconomic status.
Citizens should use every resource they can to fight this bullshite.

5 pages and hours into this thread about a sports team on a sports board and not one person has asked:
1) for pics of the players
2) for the W/L record of the black lacrosse team on the road trip.

Liberty County Sheriff William Bowman said at a news conference Tuesday that deputies had stopped several commercial vehicles the morning of the incident and found contraband in another bus.
This doesn’t give them probable cause to search other busses.

Seems like it has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with cops randomly stopping and searching buses without probable cause.

Yup. Maybe soon a lax team bus from a non-HBCU will get pulled over and searched.
