That’s actually a really solid hire.

Don’t know if he ever wants to return to college but it feels like he’s sitting and ready for when Kentucky opens next year.

Just being at his house collecting money from the Bulls would be a cleaner way to do that. Now he has the added complication of the NBA regular season not lining up with the end of the college season.

He's an assistant. If the right college job opens, he's gone in April

If you were just waiting for a college job you'd do just that.

Might just be in waiting there. Young team, front office may want more experience at the helm. Or just wants to be apart of a talented squad.

Sucks to see him with a head full of gray hair. He’s still 40 in my brain

I like it. Felt like Sean Sweeney going to the Magic was a big loss

I think SA coach isn’t that good and he sees an opportunity

It's the best of both worlds, isn't it? Spurs get rid of their current coach, they possibly look at Billy. He's obviously doing this as a somewhat "wait and see" gig for the college openings. BD's a good coach. The NBA can churn through a coach. He can lead a team to a title, but he'd be a knockout hire at the college level, obviously.

So is he gonna be the real coach? And Mitch Johnson is gonna be like Milli Vanilli?

Haha Billy sees himself being HC with that roster for a long time. I would not be surprised if the he takes over after next season.

Spurs are going to be top 3 in the West for years to come. I think he wants that job.
