Why would you spend all that money on a new stadium and NOT put a retractable roof in Buffalo?

It makes no sense

You really don't want to mess with a roofed venue in Buffalo winters. Snow accumulation is a pain in the arse to deal with. You also don't want to be opening and closing a roof in the cold and snow.

Paying billions for open air stadium in blizzard country = not smart.

There are a few venues where you probably just have to do this.

Buffalo and Green Bay for sure can’t have a roof.

Damn building a new outdoors stadium is ballsy.

Generally this is a guarantee for a SB but not happening.

Minneapolis gets a lot more snow than Green Bay and they have one.

I feel like it’s less about the weather and more about the fanbases. They just seem to be the types that embrace the elements.

Why can’t you have a retractable roof?

Just leave it open during heavy snowfall. So what it’s what you have now.

But if it’s not snowing, WOW, we can have a game with 70 degree closed roof too.

Seems like heavy snow can be managed and this decision is short sighted.

Very happy that it's open air.

Terrible idea

Bills fans are pretty united on wanting it open air

They will shove your judgment as to what’s a good vs bad idea

Retractable roofs are a complete waste of money. Stadiums that have that feature rarely open them enough to justify the cost.

The Vikings lost their soul when they went indoors.

Football is supposed to be outdoors on real grass.

Agreed.

Yup. And Green Bay wouldn’t be getting a Super Bowl or final four even with a roof.

You would think after the Bills got their asses handed to them on their home field during the playoff loss with all the snow, they would get a roof for this one.

When the Chiefs build a new Arrowhead I hope they don't put a roof over it either.
