What do the Bills do? Get on a plane or hang around Cincinnati?
NFL didn’t cancel the game. Does the league still think they can resume it tomorrow?

For people in the medical field what does being incubated in critical condition mean?
I assume you mean intubated. Thats when someone needs help breathing with a machine. Critical is what it sounds like, major medical intervention is needed and being provided.

So what the hell could have happened? Could a lung collapse from that hit?

Is a vent always a sign it’s over or is it just a bad sign that can be overcome?

He was intubated, even if survives they are gonna keep him on a vent for time being, irrelevant info right now

Again she’s never done hard news in her life and this is hard news, if you’ve never dealt with a situation like this you’re gonna sit there and go “homina, homina” like Gleason as Ralph Kramden.
I took an intern to a car race one time, a support event for a NASCAR race. I was going to just sit and watch the race and let him cover it, give him some experience. Somebody got killed literally in front of us … and he absolutely froze up, not only had he never dealt with anything like that, as someone who wanted to do just sports he never contemplated anything like that. I had to step in and take over.
It’s not an exact science and it’s not easy and you can never really prepare for it. So I’m not going to hammer Suzy. Unfortunately there are few if any Jim McKays out there anymore.

Does incubated mean some sort of life support?
Yes
Without it, he couldn’t breath

It’s “intubated”.
It means he has a tube down his throat for breathing because he can’t breath on his on and technically yes, it is life support

if they can't get his heart in rhythm and beating to where he can supply his own oxygen to his brain, he'll die...
they could have him on the vent just to give the family time to get to the hospital, but the vent is basically breathing for him, and keeping him alive....

I've had a collapsed lung about as badly as it can, and it was nothing like that. I'm not a doctor.

But they said he had a pulse. I don’t know shite, so im legitimately asking. Would that cause you to stop breathing while maintains a pulse?

It could be temporary and precautionary at this point. It’s clear he was unable to breath on his own at some point after this hit. He would have been intubated at that point. They may keep him intubated until a full assessment is done and they are confident he is able to breathe on his own.

Between this incident and the Brusly girls, it's terrifying how many times this weekend we've been shown how fragile life can be.

ESPN has handled this about as well as as can be expected. This is just an impossible situation to be on the air for.

They intubate to save the brain. Let it rest.
