Only thing that remotely resembles this in my lifetime is what happened with Owen Hart in WWF when his rigging equipment malfunctioned and he fell. They did CPR and everything on him there.
WWF continued the show, even after announcing that Hart died as a result of his injuries and was crucified for it. I think the NFL has to at least suspend the game for tonight. If this young man died during the broadcast after resuming the game the NFL would never live that down.

I won't be criticizing any of the broadcast people right now. Absolutely no way to prepare for this, it's not like they are a news anchor like Tom Brokaw prepared to do breaking news improving, they are being asked to fill air time when absolutely no words will be comforting
