re: Are you embarrassed that Alabama is trying to cancel their '27/'28 games vs Ohio State ?
Posted by The Tiger322 on 12/27/25 at 4:10 pm to Damn Yanks
I mean realistically speaking a lot of people though Bama was either out or in the 10 slot after the SECCG and they didn't move one spot. The only reason that most think they stayed in is because the committee didnt want to kill Conference Championship games. They do care about Wins and losses atleast somewhat because Miami got in over Notre Dame despite losing to two lower ranked opponents further along in the year, so say ND loss is to Oregon rather than Miami and Miami beat BYU who's in? Probably ND. Lets not also forget that Miami also jumped two spots without playing a single game and Notre Dame dropped 3 spots over a two week period despite dismantling a team and then not playing. Bama's third loss was also in a conference championship game against a team that they already beat at that teams house, so not exactly the most clear cut thing in the world.

That was like the worst sequence they could've had.

Sorsby will probably follow his girlfriend to Texas Tech. Or atleast thats the early rumor.

Leavitt=gamer. Think Trace McSorley, not the most accurate, not the strongest but my God does the dude just win. In fairness I havent watched much ASU, however, being hurt does something to you so who knows.

He was originally coming here for far less was my understanding. Kid understands that this college money really isnt anything compared to the NFL, he just got offered a deal by Michigan that would be hard to pass up regardless. Thats generational wealth if he plays it right and he can play for his home state, wouldn't surprise me at all if he leaves and signs a deal not worth that ludicrous amount. Then again he could end up at Miami in which case $$$$$$$.
re: Diet Pat Mahomes may be the best option???

Quite honestly would not complain, seems like a solid backup at absolute worst. But in all honesty I think we get an idea on if Chambliss is coming by the way they play it all.
re: Why do WRs get injured just landing now?
Posted by The Tiger322 on 12/14/25 at 8:07 pm to Bunk Moreland
I will say that it could be something similar to basketball where due to what players have to do to get noticed/be in top shape is more taxing on the body compared to years past combined with the turf, which admittedly does seem to cause more injuries, that we have seen this massive surge in non contact injuries. Just a theory though

My gosh the way that DeSoto and Southlake Carroll just ended. If the QB just went for it he wouldve been in and then DeSoto with the 99 TD run to just stamp the win like wowww.
re: Committee got it right
Posted by The Tiger322 on 12/7/25 at 1:36 pm to Cosmo
They could've got it right if they didnt have the unforced errors. If they were always going to put Miami over ND if they were ranked next to each other then I dont see why they didnt do it a few weeks ago. Flipping teams around for bs reasons to get what they want.
re: Radical proposals to fix college football

48-60 teams right? So its conceivable its effectively the SEC, old Big 10, Oregon, USC, Notre Dame, Utah maybe Washington with some big 12 and some ACC. Thats the equivalent of AAA, in this case with the NFL being the MLB. If that happens then youd almost have an entire second league of D1 FBS schools, which at that point would not be making near as much revenue as they probably already arent making too much and would thus maybe be obliged to partner up with nearby "MLB" teams, effectively becoming their AA affiliate in this analogy where schools would send their 3 stars that need to be developed to those schools with the understanding that they transfer there when they want or they can be "traded" for other prospects at other affiliate schools. That would effectively make it a Quasi MLB-NFL hybrid system and truly make it all minor league football.
re: The college football playoff is rubbish

It would be great with 8. Would've had Bama and BYU playing for a spot and OU holding the 8 slot down proving you can get in with two losses against good teams. Would've worked out great this year.

I really hope not. Its possible but I really hope not, I don't want to see the model adopted where its like baseball where each team has a feeder team affiliate or something of the sorts. Dont want that NFL-MLB mashup.

8 team playoff, best teams get in regardless. Have championships decided by final ranking at the end of the season. If not then have It be a 16 team playoff with conference championship games serving as the first round, and if you arent playing in the conference championship then youre playing somebody in the top 14 or however it works out(conceivably there is a team or two playing in the conference championship that isnt ranked such as Duke or North Texas). Highest ranked G05 winner takes the slot, so itd be Tulane in this case. Make the rankings based on a mix of human and computer rankings, 50/50 weighting. You could do something about the conferences, revive the Pac-12, the Big 12 honestly seems to be in a better place so im not sure I would mess with them. But you could do that and recreate actual meaning within the conferences. I personally feel like the finals in CFB are less exciting with having a bunch of 11-1, 10-2 still going for the national championship. Give me the best undefeated teams and best 11-1 teams going at it because then it really feels like a heavyweight bout. If the portal is going to continue then you should have to sit a year(unless approved by waiver such as HC leaving or other issues) if you transfer after your freshman year but youre eligible to play immediately if its after your sophomore year, helps create some semblance of continuity. Portal window opens after the CFBP.

Or...perhaps....don't get absolutely destroyed by your previous best win? Bama could've lost and been fine but they got killed which is what might make the difference. If they get left out its not because they played, its because they got absolutely destroyed to the tune of -3 rushing yards.
re: Why does everyone have Oregon ranked over Ole Miss?
Posted by The Tiger322 on 12/6/25 at 11:32 pm to OleVaught14
Fair point, but to counter that I bet they would bring up the chance in coaching staff. I agree though I dont they swap unless they had them that close but I doubt that.
re: Why does everyone have Oregon ranked over Ole Miss?
Posted by The Tiger322 on 12/6/25 at 11:29 pm to LSUguy2023
Keeping the same relative ranking as before. No real reason to switch them unless matchup purposes. UGA beat Ole Miss by 7 at UGA, Indiana beat Oregon by 10 at Oregon could be a data point but eh its pretty negligible.
re: Notre Dame or Miami?
Posted by The Tiger322 on 12/6/25 at 11:23 pm to cardswinagain
Personally, I think they set a precedent tomorrow and put both of them in and leave out Bama as they want the standard for three loss teams getting in to be higher. Itd be different if Bama had lost close in their two losses but they got killed.

All good, im just saying in theory they say it doesnt hurt you but they've shown otherwise both by seeding and by whos in and who's out.
re: CFBP Top 12 predictions

Im referring to 2023 when Michigan won and beat Bama?
re: CFBP Top 12 predictions
Posted by The Tiger322 on 12/6/25 at 11:17 pm to G The Tiger Fan
Ive also heard that but then saw UGA lose by one score to Bama and go from 1 to 5 and TCU that one year to drop from 2 to 3 when they lost in OT in their conference championship. Probably another example or two that apply maybe Penn State last year as well?

This is the one of the other alternatives I could see. But I dont see how you could not bump Bama atleast one after that performance and then have Miami jump from 12 to 9 despite both them and ND not playing.
