1990-2010 was a completely different era then 2011 to now. Defenses are completely neutered by the rule changes.

Best career is Tebow

Best season is Burrow

Best national championship performance is Young

Frazier
Ward
Burrow
Tebow
Cam

I think this is the group. All of these QBs were dual threat based on the need of the team.

It’s not really the rule changes. Offensive schemes are just so much more difficult to defend now because OC’s (inspired by absurd amounts of money) have had a generation to think shite up.

Frazier rushing for 199 yards in the Fiesta Bowl is definitely up there. However, Vince Young threw for almost 270 yards and rushed for 200 yards.

I downvoted without thinking about it. Partly because the guy is such a complete douchebag.

But he deserves a nomination.

Chris Leak won Offensive Player of the game in the National Championship game.

Best QB over the season is either Cam Newton or Joe Burrow. Both carried otherwise average/above average teams and were absolutely amazing and on a different level than everyone else.

Michael Vick lost to FSU in the national championship game, but he was incredible in college.

And I say the above as a Saints fan who absolutely hates Cam Newton and Michael Vick.

For their careers as a whole:

Frazier
Tebow
Leinart
Watson

For a single season:
Burrow
Newton

Burrow, Newton, and Young without question, maybe Tebow as well despite that Newton was his backup at UF. You take those 4 off those teams, they become very average 9-3 to 8-4 squads.
