Hahnville is loaded in 5-A. They should be pre-season#1

Hahnville-Desrehan might be a classic in '09 and they could end up playing twice this year.

Hahnville is going to be very good. Very, very good QB, great RB (when motivated). Smaller than usual defensively, but very well coached, and very fast and aggressive.

I would put them in the top 2 in 5A as of right now with West Monroe.

I would put WM third in the Pre-Season.

1. Destrehan
2.Hanville
3. WM

Until they are beatin Desty stays at the top. There were suppossed to be down last year and they rolled to another title.

WM COULD be great. Possibly better than last year. They have a very athletic QB but he is young. If he pans out and stays healthy WM will make a run at the Dome.

The QB (Turner) is not exactly fragile (Power Cleans 300lbs and squats over 500) so Im not too worried about having to rely on the backup QB.

People continue to question the fullback position but WM won a title in '05 with a small fullback in Jason Robinson. They have a couple of kids that they didnt try out at fullback in the spring that could play the position well.

We actually have 6 total; 1 in each class. Not sure if anyone else has that distinction.

'49-1A
'68-2A
'72-3A
'92-4A
'94 & 2003-5A

I knew they had earlier ones, just couldn't remember.

was it 92 or 94 when hahnville had that awesome defense, only gave up around 10 or 13 points all season? I grew up watching that, and in 03, my senior year, the team won state which was great.

So is it safe to say that West Monroe is the most dominant/recognized program in Louisiana in the last 20 years?

Curtis and it's not even close imo. West Monroe is a great program and is the premier program in 5A. I mean WM went to the Dome 9 out of 10 years and have 6 titles in 5A. No one else is close to that for 5A. For the entire state of LA though, it's definitely Curtis. In fact you have to put WM no higher than 3rd considering Evangel's record against them. I just wish Evangel would've been 5A in the mid 90's. I just would've loved to have played against them.

Didnt John Curtis and Evangel Christaian play up a few classifications from their actuall classification based on enrollment? Somebody told me this, and said that the state of Louisiana no longer doesn this.

Yes and when they did Curtis dominated 4A and Evangel had control of 5A.

I believe if both were in 5A from say 96' to present WM wouldn't have as many titles. I still believe in '98 and '00 WM would have won but man it would have been fun to watch those matchups.
