Where did evangel recruit this kid from?

I wasn't implying that they recruited him from WM. Heck this was 5-6 years ago.
His older brother played for WM a couple of years back...one of the strongest to ever come through the WM.

Very underrated show.

Never heard much about it.

Just started watching it on Netflix and I'm on season 3. Great storylines and lots of different shite going on keeps you watching.

There are some tearjerking moments too.

Can't complain with getting LB help.

Can he play OLB?

But he wont...he hasn't been healthy a full year since high school. We at least ONE reliable back.

With that being said I wouldn't be opposed to Bowers here

Neil Walker has been playing pretty damn good....certainly not as good as Weeks but not bad

ETA: I own Walker as well

Proposed trade?

Not quite CC continues to get the players that didnt make WM's team.

The talent just isn't the same at WM or Neville ,for the matter, that it has been in the past.
Talked to a kid that competed for WM.

Johnson definitely used a bench top and squat suit. He would have been dumb not too.

FWIW the kid I talked to believed Chuck Hunter would have beat Johnson in squat and dead lift with the help of a suit. Hunter squatted 500 raw (no suit) as a Junior.

Connor is a beast who got in a bad situation at MSU.

He really could light it up at Tech against the weak WAC teams.

Montrel Connor

Well hes a 4 star because he is just as talented as any other 4 star dtackle...If his hardwork matched his talent he'd have offers off the charts.

Its really sad to see

If he learns to not be a lazy fat arse

Ok maybe that was a little harsh but still. I hear he had THREE offers pulled from big 12 schools after they saw game footage and questioned his effort.

Its sad but what I saw Saturday night is the reason LSU isnt going to offer. He took two plays off for every big play, he walked to the sidelines after halftime while the rest of the team jogged off. He's done a pretty good job of embarassing Casey Sanders out there with his lack of effort.
As a WM fan I take my hat off to Acadiana and I gladly admit I was DEAD wrong.

Acadiana had the better team. I had said all season long that WM's oline was suspect and Acadiana exploited it like no other team could.

Congrats to Acadiana! I look forward to future matchups with them and their great fans.
From WM:
Turner QB
Cain RB (wont get an LSU offer but is definetly worth watching...a hell of a player)

Hunter DT
Lathen DE (2012 top 100 projected 4* based off his 35 inch vert, 4.5 forty...oh and he's 6'4 240)
McFarland DE 6'2 230 DE makes the most plays on the dline...great technique

Johnathen Tyson 6'2 250 OLB looks like he could step on the field for LSU now....not even kidding
Jacob Tyson OLB 6'1 225 physical freak
Deano Casola 6'0 215 MLB

Ok pretty much the WHOLE wm defense is studs..

Saftey Cade Stone is only a sophmore and starting his SECOND state title game...and he hangs with the best players out there
I have been saying all year the ONLY team I thought had a legitimate shot at beating WM was STM because of their ability to pass the ball. Well Acadiana doesn't exactly pass the ball all to well so I dont like their chances.

Ive got a feeling its going to be VERY similar to last years game. Although I dont believe Acadiana's defense is as good as Rummel's D from last year. And WM's D is just as good as last years. Paul Turner is a winner. And he will find a way to blow this game wide open.

WM 35-7 (two late scores blow it open)
I would like for old shows to stop calling the damn plays and let Hunt run the spread with Turner.

Its what he does best...even better than the option if you can believe that

I dont see a team holding WM to less than 35 points if WM is in the gun. IF they survive this week, and try the under center option against STM or Acadiana. They have a damn good chance of losing. Those D's are waaaaaaaaaay too good to let that shite beat them. And WM's oline is not good enough to beat a top tier front 7.
Last years WM team would have rivaled any team in the country.

Why? They would have pounded the ball with their 5 three hundred pounders on the oline. It would have been boring but last years team DIDNT screw up. They moved the ball when they wanted too. And the defense wasnt too shabby either

Back on topic. THE main reason WM has been such a great program is because when Shows was hired in 1993 his FIRST hire was Casey Sanders (strength coach) Sanders is the best strength coach in the nation at the high school level. He has earned the award three times now. He was actually offered the LSU strength coach job a couple of years back but decided to keep his position at WM to coach his four sons.

More and more programs are following in WM's footsteps and incorporating the "WM system".

Thats one of the coaches I spoke with..A former WM offensive lineman himself.

Ive said it once and Ill say it again. A great passing team with a decent oline can beat WM. STM might be that team.

Turner CAN win ANY game though. He's that damn good. WM's oline isnt what it was last year but Turner still finds a way to make something happen. Hes a rediculous athlete. By far the best in the state. And he has something noone else talks about. HEART! It takes great heart to put a team on you back and this kid has been doing it since his Sophmore year agains STM.

If Turner has a good game NOONE beats WM but I also know WM's secondary is below average. As it always is. Their front seven usually bail them out. STM is the only offense Ive seen with the guys up front to hold WM for the 5 sec the QB needs to throw a 60yd bomb.

So let me get this straight...the RO coaches are deliberately not using Talton, in the process diminishing their chances of winning a championship and thereby hurting all of their players, all because they want to prove, for whatever reason, that they don't need to play a kid that used to play for West Monroe?

Im not saying that at all. But I do know a couple of the coaches personally and when we talked about Talton before the season they were both gave off the vibe that he wouldn't be the reason this team wins state. Thats just dumb. He got to RO and was immedietly the best athlete there. Hell even Vincent Moore admitted to it on KNOE. Yet the first few games they continued to let Moore get the ball every play giving Talton the ball 5 times in which he scored on 3 of them.
So you honestly think River Oaks play sbetter against those fricking scrubs when you DONT give the ball to Talton?

Be fricking real, he dominated the best. He can certainly dominate the a bunch of lower level athletes.

Yea I know I'm a homer but anyone that has seen him play knows he's the best player in that league.

He made the best players in 5A ball look silly.

There is NO excuse for him to not touch the ball EVERY play. There is no arguing this. He is the best athlete River Oaks has ever had. Its pathetic that their ego's are holding this kid back.

Are you trying to be overly against WM to appear objective? Just asking as WM has destroyed every team they've played with Turner playing. They're a completely different team with him in the game.

Im not trying to be anti WM in this thread..although I see how you could think that.

I honestly just dont think this WM team is good enough to pull out a victory in a clutch situation. Turner is GREAT dont get me wrong but he is the ONLY hope the offense has. Cain and Ellis have played pretty good this season ,but it all goes back to that offensive line. Their just not that good. Turner has been sacked more in the first half of the season than he was ALL of last year. And WM is yet to play a team that is a legitimate state title contender. (Ouachita was good but noone would ever pick them to compete for state)

And the one legit passing team they played was up 20 pts on them. People keep talking about this defense being so great but their missing the depth they had last year. Last years dline was the guys starting now AND the three other guys. I wont be suprised if WM takes state because none of us know what Paul Turner is gonna do next ,but my pick is STM.

I didn't realize STM's starting QB was a sophomore. I feel much more comfortable now with my pick.

As far as 09 champs doesn't mean much, it means a lot imo. The seniors of this team have played 10 postseason games already. That's an extra YEAR of games and practices. If you don't think that makes a difference, I overestimated you.

Was he saying that the sophmore this year was the starter 2 years ago? If so then DAMMMNNNN I like their chances even more with a 3 year starter. That almost beat WM as an EIGHTH GRADER!

And most of WM's Seniors didnt play much last year..none of the olinemen...about 1/3 of the defense played significantly last year.

My pick as well.

Their best attribute is WM's biggest enemy. The passing game. WM can score alot but that offensive line is just not up to par with what they have had. Turner can only do so much.
Ive seen STM play this year..I think they will beat WM if they play them at home. Their offense is REDICULOUS! And WM's pass D is suspect as always
