My cousin went to Carencro High with Kevin. During his college recruiting, he was telling Kevin to go to Notre Dame. All Kevin would say is that he was considering it.

Early Doucet had the best highlight film I ever seen. It also included some basketball highlights. He dunked over Chris Bosh in a tournament in Lake Charles that was insane

2012 Curtis. Their were over a half a dozen power five starters on their defense, three division one running backs, multiple division 1 offensive lineman, and a five star wide receiver, another division 1 wide receiver, and a division 1 kicker.

They're closest game was a 35-13 win against evangel in the state title.

Outscored their opponents 800-80 in 16 games running the veer.

I'll bring up 2 teams that didn't win it all: 2006 Catholic and 2021 Ponchatoula.

2014 Ponchatoula had an unstoppable force at QB, but wasn't absolutely stacked to the brim like those two teams.

Not impressive IMO

Easy to do when you were smashing inferior 2A talent level teams week in and out.

and how many of those 80 points were given up by the JV players in clean up duty.

Curtis will always have an elite defense and Special teams. They’re the most technically sound players year in and year out.

CHS-BR Alum?

I was a sophomore on that CHS team that got steamrolled by Ruston in the Dome and had the pleasure of losing to those Thibodaux and Neville teams the following 2 years.

That Ruston team was ridiculous, but it was amazing that we made it to the dome considering the route it took for us to get there. I forget what round, but we won a wet and cold 14-13 game at Ouachita and then had to face a Jesuit team coached by Danny Abramowicz at Tad Gormley IIRC. I think we beat that Jesuit team somewhat handily, but given the big Ouachita win we were primed for a letdown.

I don't remember much about the following season when we lost to Thibodaux, but seem to recall a LOT of finger-pointing between the offense and defense. I don't remember the score, but think it was close with a chance to win near the end. Honestly, I think that was a team we should have beaten.

I was just recalling the Neville loss to someone last week. We were tied 14-14 going into the half and ended up losing 34-14, I believe. I don't remember them dramatically outsizing us like Ruston did, but do remember them being tough as nails and grinding the ball down the field.

Fun times considering the talent we had those 3 seasons.

1990. Ruston is the correct answer. 99 Evangel and 98 West Monroe are the only teams that would give them a game

Shout out to Coach Salt… that EJ championship only gets more and more impressive as time passes… maybe not the strongest champion ever (though beating McDonogh #35, North DeSoto, Warren Easton, Neville, and Karr in a row was), but not many overperformed their potential like they did.

It ain’t about how good you were, it’s about how you’re remembered
Also remembered for the 19 Seniors that lived outside of EJ's boundaries.

2002 Redemptorist. 15-0 and they waxed everyone. Even the state title was won by 2-3 TDs. I think they were #1 the whole year.

2003, Redemptorist was good too. Went 14-1 and beat Curtis in state championship after moving to 4A

Recruiting wasn't. Those 19 players left schools they were enrolled in for two or three years.

Yes, because Easton, Neville, and Karr have been squeaky clean with all players living in zone

So that makes it right? You also forgot Zachary, Dutchtown and WM, btw.
