Demorio Taylor in 2001 was a nightmare return man.

Istrouma was badass those days. My dad was a track star then and knew the Billy Cannon's and others there. F'n wild arse stories of those nut jobs, in a good way, maybe.
Not sure what happened in '58, but damn those teams were badass.

Was that the team that trucked Belle Chasse 61-0 in the second half?

1998 WM is the only correct answer. Probably had over 25 D-1 scholarship players on that team.

I want to say of the 22 starters, 17 signed D1. Obviously most of the 2000 starters were freshmen/sophomores on that 98 team as well.
I believe 75 st aug had the most players play after HS of any LA team

I played in the Dome against Ruston 1990. They get my vote. Everyone knows about that arse whipping we got.

I don't remember the year, but when Ouachita walked out in a single file line the entire length of the field for warmups in the Dome while Brother Martin was stretching, the game was over. Martin stopped and stared. Roymon Malcolm was impressive in a uniform, like many other of their players.

Aug is like in the top ten all time NATIONALLY for the most players that played in the NFL. Think the number was 43. Might be more now.

Yep I'd have to agree with you on that Ruston team. Talented and dominant.

I was a freshman at Bogalusa High School in 1956 when Istrouma with Cannon came to play. The winner of the game would go to the playoffs (only district champions went to the playoffs in those days). Istrouma dominated both offense and defense and crushed a decent Lumberjack team.

2006-2007 and 2007-2008 Bastrop was the best team I've ever seen in person. 06-07 only close game was against Huntington when I think a few players were suspended. Beat Neville 32-0 who went 10-3, beat 13-1 Minden 60-6. Beat 14-1 Archbishop Shaw by 2 touchdowns for the state championship. Next year was more of the same. @ Ravyille was the lone game that was a one score win. Beat Archbishop Shaw again for the state championship 38-14. Save me the pearl clutching about recruited players, just about every great team in this thread has at least few of them. Those teams were something to see on Friday nights.

Strong team, but Roth gets credit there too with a great game plan. Double team/bracket Barbe's best WR, mush rush/contain their athletic QB, and when on offense they ran the play clock down to one second on EVERY snap, limiting Barbe to 7 possessions for the game.

I know that bastrop team mastered the crack back block that took a lot of players out of the game. Back when it was legal.

This was 1989. We lost to the “University of Ouachita” that year in the playoffs.

However, Raymon Malcolm played for the 1990 Ruston team. I had a close up view of him running over our defense in the dome that year.
