The disconnect from from me not clarifying, I wasn't talking about the playoffs going away, rather the polls leading to the playoff picks! Yes, I agree with the playoff and am excited they are going to 12 games next year. I just want AP or any other media out of the business of picking any rankings!

The AP poll has absolutely zero to do with the CFP poll released today.
You are talking out of both sides of your arse in this thread. On one hand you want the polls, like the AP to have zero to do with the playoffs. Yet your thread title says you want the BCS, which took into account multiple polls.
You very clearly don't have an understanding of how the BCS worked, or how the CFP selection committee works. Or both.

How so many people can complain about rankings and playoff selections and point to the regular season issues BUT think the fix is by expanding the post season is maddening.
Nothing you do to the post season fixes any of the regular season issues or schedule inequalities and expanding the playoff without actually addressing the problems doesnt help, it only makes it worse.

The current College Fottball Playoff Rankings are:

The same 4 teams. I'm not sure what you are complaining about.

The good thing about the BCS formula was it rewarded strength of schedule more than going undefeated. So it encouraged the good out of conference matchup instead of the cupcake games. Media bias favors teams that were good in the last century and encourages cupcake schedules to go undefeated.

I think Kentucky was ranked when the game happened, but they have lost again.
UGA will be #1 if they win out I think. OSU may have the stronger 2023 resume if they win out (and the teams they beat win some games), but if it's close you should have UGA #1. SEC has been best conference for a while overall and unless OSU beats Michigan by 30 I would think UGA would have enough to pass them.
