Colley matrix was my favorite BCS poll. It has LSU at #23. The fact is, LSU ruined their own season.

The formula was changed over the years the formula used from 2005-2013 was the best, the early years there were multiple where there was legit controversy and I would argue the match up was not the right one* 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003 all got it wrong in terms of one of the teams playing.
98: FSU was In because they lost first. Ohio St or KSU had better arguments to be in.
2000: Miami beat FSU head to head and Washington beat Miami, Washington maybe had the tougher SOS either should have been in over FSU.
2001 : Nebraska did not win their division let alone confer and lost 62-39. Oregon or Colorado should have been over them.
2003: OU lost their CCG by 4 TDs, they had business being in the BCSCG. It should have been LSU v USC, though it was this year that lead to simpler formula.

I tried telling you people that this committee bullshite was a terrible Idea but no one would listen. This crap was put in because media pushed the narrative and the sheep fans got behind it and bought in. With the BCS they didn't have much control of who got in. It was most based upon who you beat, strength of schedule and how strong your opponents are. Now 12 ppl sit in a room and decide who gets in. Teams don't have control of the system anymore.

And yet the 4 teams picked by the committee are the same 4 teams ranked 1-4 in the BCS formula which was 2/3 human polls anyway. Can you provide a single example of a team that unjustly made it and who was left out that shouldn’t have been? They 100% factor all those things in, they just do it after it happens. These mix season’s rankings don’t matter, it’s the last one and I’d love to see all the times the committee “got it wrong”.
