The Angels would laugh at this offer. It'll take more than that, especially if they're taking the rest of Ozuna's contract.

yeah, that offer for Ohtani and a closer is incredibly weak.

The Estevez part, however, is intriguing and I think we could get him for a pretty light haul.

WHy would the Angels laugh?

That's 2 young, potential starting pitchers.

Ozuna can still hit a little bit and Grissom is interesting with potential. Throw in a descent AA prospect and that Angels are getting waaay more than a compensatory draft pick.

They'd laugh because they will get offers that blow that out of the water. The starting point for Ohtani would probably look more like this:

Elder
Soroka
AJSS
Grissom
Owen Murphy

Would probably also have to throw in a lottery ticket or two.

maybe don't use this phrase to justify his inclusion in a trade for the best player in the league.

I'm just trying to get the conversation going....

What do you think it would take for the Braves to get Ohtani and it be a good trade for both teams?

it's a pointless conversation tbh. Anyone on this site putting together packages has no clue. There's no way to know unless you start talking about the other teams that would also try to get involved and what packages they would be putting together.

What’s weird about it is people on here talking shite about me for posting something I heard on an Atlanta Braves talk radio station.

My theory is you either misheard or misunderstood what you did hear.

Potential Playoff Rotation:

Ohtani
Fried
Strider
Ole Uncle Charlie

And if Kyle Wright comes back - Great. If not we're still in great shape.

And we've added another good reliever

We're not getting Ohtani. Just stop.

my theory as well.

I've listened to enough 680 to know that the only show in the full lineup that would remotely come close to saying something this stupid is the early morning show that wraps up at 9 AM. Joe Hamilton (as big of a hero as he was to young Vinegarstrokes) is an illiterate fool and that Miami fan John Michaels is more concerned about turnover chains than baseball. Maybe one of those two said this but I doubt it...as they are rarely leading the charge on any legit baseball discussion.

Dimino would never say this, as he is a huge baseball nerd.

Chuck and Chernoff are usually pretty level-headed with baseball talk in between the fart sound effects and spliced together sentences that Hoyt is doing.

and Buck Belue's dumbass has been relegated to only an hour of air time which is mostly dedicated to the same UGA talking points everyday.

I know we're not getting Ohtani. All of us know that....

There is NO CHANCE AA even makes a call to inquire.

But that wasn't the point of the post... was it?

Again - I said silly trade proposal.... right?

Since you guys just want to be smart asses today - here's a better question --

Do the Angels trade Ohtani? I think they should.

If they do - who gets him?
