We scored almost 1,000 runs. Bringing the offense back is essentially a no brainer. Kelenic is an interesting upside play to hit 7th/8th. Will be interesting to see who the RH OF option is.
The defense at SS is a small concern to me as well. The metrics for Arcia were ok but I would have him on a short leash. I think I would be willing to accept a downgrade offensively for a vacuum there.

we are 0-3 in Strider starts in these last 2 playoffs. No one in the world we are acquiring who is taking starts from him.
He hasn't pitched bad in some of those starts though. And you're right, no one is going to take starts from him and nor should they, and I say that as someone who is fairly critical of Strider and TBH probably wouldn't like him very much if he weren't a Brave.

We lost because our so called star pitcher got a freaking blister for the only games that mattered. Soft as charmin. And his wing man Morton decided to bail the last month of the season as well. You can talk about the bats going cold but when the young stars see the veterans bail on the season they all laid down. We need guys who actually want to win ball games and not just go thru the motions for empty season stats - I’m looking at you Fried.
How did the blister cause us to lose the NLDS? We won that game.
2 of the 3 losses were games where we scored 0 and 1 run respectively. Philly only scored 3 runs in each of those games.
If you are going to bitch, at least use facts when bitching.

Nice deflection.

He thinks if he repeats a narrative often and loud enough, it'll eventually become true but we all know that's not how it works.

Like the narrative that we are doomed because we won’t re-sign Fried who has given us ONE high level playoff run. You don’t pay a guy the largest contract in team history who disappears in October. He disappeared in 2022 and 2023. Let the Mets or Yankees sign him, I’ll take Strider and the guys on the farm all day over Fried. We may lose but we won’t lose because of a freaking blister.

You're like the boy who cried wolf.
And did Fried frick your wife or something?

throw out more shite takes in this thread because I know I won’t ever throw out the shittiest.
The offseason threads always have some amazingly tone deaf takes, but VolSquatch and RunningJacket are putting together quite the pillow fight for top terrible take this offseason

The #Braves today signed RHP Huascar Ynoa ($825,000) and INF Luis Guillorme ($1.1 million) to one-year contracts for the 2024 season.
I thought Ynoa was under contract already, but I like it.
Luis Guillorme bat catch
This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen on a baseball field.

Kelenic completely sucks and has never really shown anything in his albeit short career
Posted on 1/5/24 at 7:26 pm to Finkle is Einhorn
Savant page is very promising outside of the swing and miss.
AA said internally they had a young Joc Pederson comp on him.
They invested about $25M in buying him from the Mariners.
He might suck but “he sucks and has never shown anything” is an interesting take considering he literally produced more WAR than Rosario last year and the Braves clearly believe there’s a lot more in there.

WAR is not a real stat
And the Braves have been wrong on players before. So just bc they believe something is there, doesn’t real hold much weight

That’s just not true. He has a very live bat, his issue is strikeouts

While this is true, they don't miss often. Makes them the orginazation that they are.

What does WAR measure?

His overall value compared to a borderline player.
You can argue the accuracy of its merits based on how the algorithm is set up, but to act like it's a number pulled out of thin air is pretty dumb.
