Then all numbers and math equations are pulled out of thin air.

Not sure how I could be any clearer when I answered this the first time.

Holy crap, this is about as dumb as Frenchy's “If on-base percentage is so important, then why don’t they put it up on the scoreboard" comment back in the day.
WAR is a combination of offense(a players OPS/wOBA), base running, and defense. It's not "pulled out of thin air" because you don't understand the math.
You can complain about WAR not being completely accurate simply because defense is hard to quantify with 100% accuracy (and depending on which defensive stats are used the WAR can be a bit different), but offensive stats and running stats are pretty easy to compare. Acting like WAR doesn't exist is just being dumb.

Absolutely nothing, say it again!

The offseason threads always have some amazingly tone deaf takes, but VolSquatch and RunningJacket are putting together quite the pillow fight for top terrible take this offseason
You're going to win the offseason "biggest bitch" award running away

I think there is a mathematical argument to saying it is "pulled out of thin air" because its a formula that is in theory supposed to reference itself when defining a "replacement player", but I don't necessarily agree with that argument

Great comeback big dawg!
Anyway, Mississippi Braves are leaving Pearl after this season and heading to Columbus, GA. Not counting the FCL short-season site, all of our minor league affiliates will now be in Georgia.
Feel bad for the Jackson locals that worked for the club. A lot of good folks over there, but fan support for that team was trash, even by MiLB standards. Good for the club to get out of that cesspool of an area.
Jackson has lost the M-Braves, Deion Sanders and drinkable water in the last two years.

Yeah attendance was terrible in Pearl. And a nice stadium too, good place to catch a game. Wonder what they will do with it

I'm sure they'll try to attract another team, but I can't imagine many organizations will be beating down the doors to come there.
For the time being, I assume it will only be used for the MSU/Ole Miss/USM baseball series and the high school state championships.
Nice intimate park.

Man I'm going to be really bummed out after they let Max walk.

Might as well get it out of your system now and enjoy his last year with us.

Sucks that its a foregone conclusion already

It'll be nice to have the AA in Columbus, just a smidge over an hour from my house. May have to check into going to some games.
You live in the Jackson area IIRC?

Hopefully AA signs Wheeler this next off-season to make up for Fried walking.

Only if Wheeler falls off and commands no more than $20MM AAV for 2 or 3 years. But sure, hopefully.

What will Wheeler actually go for compared to Max?
Wheeler is several years older, so if we won't pay Max I'm not sure we pay Wheeler either lol
