Yep, Alfred Morris for the Redskins is one of my favorites. Also Marques Colston and Altuve. They are well known, but hearing their backstories makes you grateful

Mikaela Schiffrin seems to be genuine. And absolutely dominates her sport through hard work as well as natural talent.

No one mentioned Ben Watson?

Other than that... and the stealing... and the pay-to-play scheme, he's a great role model. A TRU 1nspirAt1on.

There's plenty of them. The Red Wings (using them just because they are my favorite American professional team) has many. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Kronwall, Abdelkader, Lidstrom (still fairly recent), etc. And those are mostly just the bigger names from the last few years. I'm sure you can add Nyqvist, Tatar, Larkin, etc. in a few years as they become the veterans.

No role models and I'm here right now. No role models to speak of.

Ben Watson jumps to mind.

We live in an age of 24/7 media coverage. People probably know more about the personal lives of athletes than they do their next door neighbors. With that kind of coverage you can find some bad things about anyone, nobody is perfect. Doesn't mean a majority of athletes aren't good role models or good people
