Counting their rise in 1994 strike shortened season has any other franchise done more with less money?

Mid to late 90s tribe was an incredible thing.

KC Royals went to back to back World Series in 2014 and 2015 and won it in 2015.

Brewers haven't won in the post season, but only them and the Dodgers have won more than 86 games each of the last 10 years.

I'd argue the Marlins.

Not sustained success obviously, but they've won more World Series than the Indians and Rays combined since 1948... and they've only been around since 1993.

They bought the first title so they had a lot to work with originally.

They havent been relevant in 20 years.

I guess the Rays would have a slight edge over Indians, but both have been way better than the Moneyball A’s, and that was viewed as the standard.

The best Cinderella story in baseball would be the winner of the ALCS beating the Dodgers for the WS title.

Micro payroll vs Ponzi Scheme payroll.

yes, I will take that as this was the analogy that started me thinking on this. A's got all the hype but Indians/Guardians executed better.

the A’s made the ALCS in 2006 and got swept.

Whoever wins this series can be considered “way” better than them but the loser is the same

Cleveland had a higher payroll that year.

Big time. Wouldn't count the Marlins in this conversation at all.

I acknowledge Cleveland gutted payroll around 2001.
