That's hilarious coming from you of all people.

And why is that? Because I believe in consistency?

You start following UNC because of Jordan and you call out a few Duke fans and you base this because your gut feeling suggests that they are UNC haters in the early part of this decade?

Coach K get more out of less.
UNC is always talented but underperform which is usually good enough for the W

sorry, rooting for one of the all time great programs in 1 sport just because, even for a long time, is still bandwagon and lame as shite.

This is worse, but that doesn't excuse rooting for great teams just because they are great.

But I guarantee you almost every "Duke" fan in the last decade came because they were beating UNC earlier this decade.

Duke has been the premiere program in CBB from the mid 80's. People that root for them in BB only that did not go to school there, have family that went to school there or did not grow up or live in Durham are also terrible people.

That use to work, but it's obvious not working with the one and dones nowadays.

The W is all that matters.

The 2005 class was a huge flop for Duke, but his recruiting efforts have been pretty good regardless of the rule change.

The number of one and dones is not really as significant as people think. The 2007 class was an anomaly because of the top level talent and over the next few years that will be even more apparent.

Didn't read all the posts, but if someone was an LSU fan from another state, can't they still be a fan? Even a die hard?

BTW, I was at the 7/11 bar in Vegas, great Saint FANS

Considering that Duke use to get the top players each year, I would say the one and done rule does hurt if Coach K isn't going after them. Carolina seems to go after them, and there doesn't seem to be much drop off when they do leave. I am curious to see how good Duke and UNC will be this year. Really curious. College basketball is better when both are in the top 10.

Duke got Josh McRoberts and Kyle Singler, who were both consensus top 5 players in their classes. Henderson and E-Will were both top 10-15 players as well. This year they already have Irving, a top 10 player, and could get Barnes in two weeks.

And in 3 of the last 4 years, Duke has been a number two seed in the tournament (and won the ACC Tourney twice and the regular season once). There has certainly been some drop-off, but not as much as people think. I would like to see the team get past the Sweet 16 though

I'm not going to pretend to be a CBB analyst, but IMO Dukes failure in the tournament is a direct reflection of the one and done.

Of course they can be, but if they have no connection to LSU or La (ie from La, parents went to school at LSU), they only root for LSU in football and just became fans this decade, then they are pretty much band wagon fans.

Let's look at the teams since the rule change.

2006-07 Final 4: The Final 4 is Florida, OSU, GTown, and UCLA. OSU has a bunch of one and dones (Cook, Oden, Conley Jr.), but UCLA and Florida were returning Final 4 teams. GTown was led by juniors Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert and didn't have any marquee freshman.

2007-08 Final 4: UNC, Kansas, Memphis, UCLA. Only Memphis comes close to being a one and done team with Rose, and all of their other starters were juniors and seniors.

2008-09 Final 4: UNC, Michigan State, UConn, Nova. Not a single one and done player in the mix.

UNC has had a very successful run as well and only Brandan Wright was a one and done.

Outside of the brilliant 2007 class, there will only be 5 or 6 one and dones each year.

My point is, none of these teams are named Duke.

you're an idiot. You could argue Coach K has brought in more talent (based on high school accolades) than any other coach in the country.

He does less with more.
