Duke has some very tall and athletic guys (the Plumlees, in particular), but none of the big guys except Miles and Bryan Zoubek have any bulk, and Zoubek just flat out sucks (at least he's a great student, so he adds something to the program), so I can see the team getting out-muscled against the elite big men.
Fortunately, it seems like Nolan Smith has really improved his game this year, so Scheyer won't be forced to run the point as much. Also, Andre Dawkins could be a very good player coming off the bench.
FWIW, I always enjoyed the Duke teams with J-Will, Langdon, McLeoad, Brand, Battier, and Junior Dunleavy much more than the teams Duke had when I was around, except my freshman year. I feel bad for the fans who graduated the past two years since they never got to experience a truly dominant team.
Also, I think that UNC, Maryland, and Kentucky fans make it seem like Duke is more hated across the country than they really are.

Im anxious to see how Mason and Miles Plumlee and Ryan Kelly will look this season.
Duke is definately going to be a lot bigger than they have been in the past.

Steinbrenner's daughter went to UNC, and he has given them seven figure sums for the baseball field.

I think it is so funny, all of a sudden there are a lot of people saying "we" and "us" and "our" all in relation to Duke. Since when are you all Puke fans? When was the last time that Duke got passed the Sweet 16? Also, were you all Duke fans when LSU beat them? There are only a few people in basketball I cheer for, North Carolina is #1, anybody that is going against Duke, then LSU.

Dude, your name is UNC Tar Heels, what is your affiliation with UNC?
I can see why an LSU alum who is a hardcore LSU basketball fan can get frustrated with this kind of relative bandwagoning, but you really aren't in a position to talk.

No, we just hate you. I actually think there are many many Duke fans just like any successful team has tons of bandwagon fans. I just think they all suck.

I think that UNC, UCLA, Kansas, Kentucky, and Duke all have lots of fans because of their success.
However, the UNC and Kentucky boards on Scout in particular are so obsessed with Duke, that it's kind of sad, especially when you compare them to the Duke boards, where half of the topics are not about UNC or Kentucky.

I am a Duke fan unless they play LSU.
I've lived in NC for 15 years and I started liking their program when they had J. Williams, Dunleavy, Battier, etc.
My wife is a huge UNC fan but their fanbase (all sports) annoys the shite out of me.
They are the most fair weather fans you'll find anywhere. Football tailgate is lame and they are so ridiculously spoiled when it comes to hoops that they simply expect to win everything.
I find myself pulling for Duke often against UNC because I like the players better and they're usually the underdog in recent years.
Never liked players like Sheed, Makhtar Ndiye, McCants, etc.
People around ACC country are very high on Duke this year and expect them to win the conference.

It's a down year for the ACC, and I think Duke is slightly better than UNC. They have more experience for sure, but it's too close to call probably. I think they tied on the AP ballot, with Duke receiving one more first place vote.

Well, as a Maryland fan who grew up watching the Terps, there is no team I hate more than State. They have brought more misery to Maryland than anyone else. They always play their best game against us. It's infuriating.
Well, not now. Right now, the Terps stink as Gary slowly works his way out of a job.
