Wouldn't 10 minute quarters ENCOURAGE MORE of a 3-point shooting contest?
Run and shoot.
Forget 10 minute quarters, lets just get racks of balls all around the perimeter, that way players don't have to travel on every possession, since dribbling seems to be a choice in today's NBA.

Yeah but if the quarters are only 10 minutes instead of 12 it would cut out those last two minutes that take 30 minutes. It's genius.

This guy is as dumb as Manfred…dare I say, maybe worse.
The issue is that 3-point contests are not entertaining. You are going to have young fans regardless. But this new style isn’t appealing to everyone, ONLY the younger generation and a few holdovers. Allow some tougher defense and maybe change the court dimensions a bit.
As for the last two minutes: quit reviewing time every stoppage. Maybe turn obvious late game fouls into intentional fouls.

Instead of shortening the game, shorten the play clock. Nothing like watching a player dribble for 10+ seconds just to play ISO ball and take a poor shot.
Shorten it to 18 seconds. Make teams actually run offensive sets, and get into them quickly. Make defenders actually get back on defense and not take plays off.

Bring back, carries, traveling and go back to real contact needs to be made for a foul. The game is very broken.

You can't let 20 teams into the playoffs and expect the players to play hard in the regular season or for the fans to give a shite about it. They've made the regular season games little more than exhibitions and they're treated as such by everyone involved.

Losing records should not be allowed into post season and all players should be on playoff based/win based escalating contracts.
Make it such that if your team is below a certain win total each game below is like 2% of your guaranteed base salary.
If you make the playoffs, each seed is slotted with a certain % increase (8 being 2% increase, 7 being a 5% increase, 6 a 9% increase etc)
Make the regular season matter financially to the players

Great. Each team will jack up 40 three points shots instead of the usual 60. The league has become an all star game. No defense, dudes just standing around. Garbage product

It would cut out 13.5 games without cutting out 13.5 games. Less wear and tear on the players while maintaining ticket sales

Yes. I’ve often thought its too long. It needs to be same length as college games. Games should be a sprint not a marathon.
