Came across this YouTube vid of some past players talking about MJ, Kobe, and LeBron. Most of them say Kobe is better than LeBron and have MJ #1 but it’s a pretty cool video whether you agree or not.

An 8 month old video consisting of old clips from who knows when is supposed to be enlightening?

kobe is my favorite player ever but he isn't nearly as good as lebron. kobe is fringe top ten. lebron is top two.

You would legitimately suck lebron off wouldn’t you? It’s pathetic that guy is your hero

Haven’t watched the video, and likely won’t, but I agree with the premise.

According to people with a much more qualified opinion than you, you’re wrong.

have you ever listened to sports talk radio, or podcasts? most former players are fricking idiots.

but we all know you don't actually watch basketball.

Saying Kobe is better than LeBron is as close to unquestionably wrong as opinions get.

While I mostly agree, the guys that actually played against them say otherwise.

Do you think that a plumber would be a good judge on who the best plumber is or the guy that sits around watching the plumber fix shite?

I think most guys put Kobe ahead Bc they identify with his mentality. Mamba mentality. Meanwhile lebron runs off to make super teams. And would rather team up with the best than beat them. That’s why guys are taking Kobe.

Who was a better general manager, Jerry Krause or Michael Jordan?

Being good at basketball does not equate to being a good judge of talent.

Also, if you watch player interviews, most are heavily biased towards the time period they played in. There's something to be said for objective perspectives.

It's also not an exaggeration to say every available stat favors LeBron.

This.

Charles Barkley constantly lambasted the Warriors and said they couldn’t win a title as a jump shooting team

Oscar Robertson has said that all you need to do to stop Steph is pick him up full court.

Paul Pierce said Lebron isn’t a top 5 player in history

I mean, I can keep going...

A lot of former players have their own very strong biases or agendas towards the era they came from or players they liked/disliked. Just because a player says it - doesn’t make it true. They have some terrible takes out there.

And this is one of them. Kobe is a better FT shooter than Lebron. That’s literally the only aspect of his game that is superior to Lebron’s when comparing them at their peak. And Lebron has more individual career accomplishments as well. It’s a no contest win for Bron

and like rep520 said, the best player ever is an objectively terrible judge of talent. one of the worst of all time.

Kobe is the guy I grew up watching, he will always be one of my favorite players.

But seriously, he is in no way better than Lebron. That is of no disrespect to Kobe either, but he simply isnt.
