Former players generally suck at evaluating talent

Wilt and Shaq almost certainly underachieved

I don’t think Lebron has at all.

Hard to “underachieve” when you’re #2 all time

Those two are all-stars, Kyrie’s still considered the best ball-handler in the game if not all-time and retained the reputation as a skilled guard and devastating closer until his shine deteriorated with the bullshite he pulled in Boston, K-Love was a dominating player pre-Cavs, combine those two with LeBron I mean cmon unless you’re willing to admit LeBron’s not a very good leader when it comes to this type of stuff to have this talent help him and only 1 (kinda gifted) ring to show for it

Yeah. They accomplished nothing. They could be consider top 3 at their position if they tried. Same as Griffey Jr and Brees.

I mean they were considered the biggest sure things in the history of the game (this is common sense apocryphal knowledge here) and all won less titles than MJ, Kobe, Magic, and Kareem I mean Bird has more titles than Wilt and the same amount as LeBron only it took him less time to achieve in a pretty stacked league

Devastating closer seems rich for a guy that hasn’t proven he’s capable of winning, literally anything, as a #1 option.

Kevin Love was dominating enough to never make the playoffs pre-Cavs?

It’s just an odd evaluation system is all. You knock Lebron for “only” winning 3 titles and in the same breath you talk about how good his teammates are that haven’t had any semblance of playoff success at all without Lebron.

It’s almost as if your analysis is biased and facts and talking points are being spun in favor of whatever makes Lebron look bad instead of applied on a consistent and logical basis. But surely that can’t be it.

It’s well known that Shaq didn’t take great care of himself

He was still an incredible player - underachieving is relative to potential

Read up on Wilt’s stat-chasing and tell me he didn’t underachieve. All that dominance didn’t get him to the top of the mountain very often.

I’m tired of Kobe being shoehorned into every all time debate since he died. Dude was consistently ranked as a 11-15 guy all time. Now that he’s dead a lot of casuals put him top 5 :puke:

Eh. I mean Kobe definitely isn’t top 5. But he certainly has a case for top 10, especially if you favor longevity and overall career accomplishments over how good someone was at their peak.

Kevin Love has never played on a team that was above .500, except for his years with LeBron. He's been on a team that won fewer than 20 games 4 times.

I wouldnt really say that Shaq under performed. He wasnt winning a ring in the 90s with Jordan and Olajuwon dominating. He still won 4 during the 2000s, which isnt that bad all things considered.

Wilt on the other hand, yea he definitively underachieved. Wilt was scoring 50 a game and barely managed to squeeze out 2 rings in a time when the league was a whole lot less talented than the time Shaq played in.

I have never understood this. Yes, Ray Allen made a big shot. But throughout Jordan's career, guys like John Paxon, Steve Kerr, Toni Kukoc alsp made some bigtime buckets. Why is it that only Lebron gets blamed for teammates making clutch shots.

What I never understand is people acting like Ray Allen won the series for them yet Bron scored or assisted on nearly every other point in that entire 4th + OT.

Bron scored or assisted on 32 of Miami's 38 points in 4th + OT

But yea, Ray Allen saved his arse....

I mean if LeBron doesn’t choke in BOTH 2010 AND 2011 against inferior teams with HC advantage, doesn’t choke in game 3 of the 14 Finals back in Miami tied 1-1, doesn’t GET OUTSCORED BY IGGY in the critical game 4 in Cleveland up 2-1 against the Warriors, and doesn’t quit on his team in OT game 1 in 18, he might have a bunch of rings actually, the recurring theme here is LeBron comes up short many times in the big moments almost as much as he comes through in the big moments just so glaring. I mean there shouldn’t be this list of meltdowns for a player many argue is the greatest of all-time and greater than Kobe and I’m aware of Kobe quitting in game 7 in 06, I’m aware of the 08 Finals, and I’m aware of his ball-hogging in the 04 Finals but this is a complete list that almost exceeds the amount of fingers on my two hands, it’s ridiculous.

Yeah like talents like K-Love and Kyrie as your 2nd and 3rd best players flanking LeBron is a bum team, gimme a break I’m the one applying logic here haha

They were down by 10 entering the 4th too. LeBron was great bringing them back.

If LeBron doesn't do that, Allen's 3 is meaningless.
