People generally think of Larry Bird as one of the all time great 3-point shooters. To show how the volume of 3-point shots increased over the years, the following players all made more 3-pointers in their career than Larry Bird.
Marco Belinelli
Jose Calderon
DJ Augustin
Aaron Brooks
Marcus Thornton
Jodie Meeks
JJ Barea
Mike James
Patty Mills
Terrence Ross
Murderers row of HOF caliber players right there.

There was no 3 point shot when Larry was in college. His first year in the NBA was the first year the league adopted it

In my entire life and this includes watching retrospective clips of past players, I don't think I have ever seen any one player shoot a basketball better than Larry Joe Bird. To me, his form and release were basically perfect.

9x first-team all-pro
3x NBA world champ
2x Finals MVP
3 straight league MVPs
5x NBA Finals participant
Member of the 50-40-90 club
Excepting the 1981 NBA Finals(The Legend was not very proficient that series), a few of the greatest series performances ever submitted by a player in the history of the Association including the career magnum opus that was Game 6 of the 1986 Finals

considering Wilt is 5th all time in NBA points, i'm going to go with no. but there's no way to know because dunks weren't kept as a stat until the 2000s

What we have found out in these last 5 years is 3 point shooting is actually a really low level skill.
Posted on 1/19/18 at 4:12 am to TheWalrus
But none of them can finesse the fadeaway like Bird!

Pete Maravich may not have lived in the same house as Bird when it came to shooting the ball, but he lived damn close in the same neighborhood.
