Comparison will be made between the two maybe even jokingly but it really is incredible how similar the two were considering they aren’t even the same sport

It was 95-75 with 9:33 left. The Knicks have 4 comebacks of at least 20+ points in the 2nd half of playoff games the last 2 seasons

They did it to the Celtics twice last year.
They did it to Cleveland
And now they do it to the Spurs.

It won’t keep happening. Spurs will focus more in Game 5 and win easily. Knicks will crumble under the pressure in Game 6. Spurs will win Game 7 at home

The weird thing too is the franchises are reversed. Obviously it’s a a completely new “era” of Spurs basketball than the Duncan years, but the 21st century Spurs are similar to the Patriots and the Knicks for decades have been similar to the Falcons.

I think that’s partly why 28-3 will always have the edge (Atlanta’s pain), in addition to football obviously being a singular game, not best-of-7.

28-3 will be worse, as this was one game in a series. If the Spurs didn’t piss away G1 or hit a shot in G2, the series is different. This is just part of the story at this point.

28-3 definitely. Far fewer possessions, for one. More strategy in NFL, faster play in NBA allowing for more scoring situations generated.

Because the game clock continues to tick away while there is no action.

Centers frequently hike the ball when there is less than 3 seconds on the play clock.

“They can’t keep getting away with this!”

We’re talking about the 28-3 lead, well the Patriots had Tom Brady. He was the best player on the field in that Super Bowl. Victor Wembanyama is the best player on either team in these Finals and they’ve blown a few leads as he’s come up small.

Now is the Knicks 3-1 lead safe? No because they’ve had to come from behind so much. It’s not hard to see the Spurs put a hammer down at home, but their vet closer isn’t there yet and Fox ain’t it.

Not similar at all. One was a one-game playoff, the other is a 7 game series where the choking seam was down 2-1 anyway

28-3, this wasn’t game 7.

The only thing that makes that NBA comeback strange is that the refs let it happen. NBA refs constantly influence the games and it would have been easy for them to crush a comeback like that.
