Five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo, No. 20 in the 2026 ESPN 300, committed to Texas Tech on Friday upon signing a historic, seven-figure revenue share contract with the Red Raiders, his agent Derrick Shelby of Prestige Management told ESPN.
Ojo, a 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect from Mansfield, Texas, is ESPN's No. 4 offensive tackle and second-ranked recruit from the state of Texas in the 2026 class. He chose Texas Tech over Florida, Michigan, Ohio State and Texas following a slate of official visits this spring. Ojo will arrive as the program's highest-ranked addition since ESPN began ranking high school prospects in the 2006 recruiting cycle.

Per Shelby, Ojo is set to join Texas Tech on a fully guaranteed three-year, $5.1 million contract.
The deal is believed to be one of the largest fully guaranteed revenue-share agreements in college football history under the recently approved federal settlement that allows college programs to pay their athletes directly. Ojo's deal now rivals the lucrative multiyear package that top-ranked 2026 offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell secured with Miami earlier this year, which sources told ESPN will earn the nation's No. 3 overall prospect more than $2 million annually with incentives.

If you’re going to be in Lubbock, the price better be right.

wonder what the 3 higher rated OTs are getting?

5 million for an offensive lineman is insane. It’s very hard to project how an 18 year old will pan out. Imagine if someone gave Kardell Thomas that kind of money.

To be fair he was a fat fricking guard and not a 6’7 tackle

Then TT is off the hook and Texas paid more to buy out his contract. He signed a contract. The billionaire businessman leading the charge didn't become a billionaire on accident. This is all above board school paid revenue share money according to reports. The universities aren't stupid either. He will have to go to court to get out of the deal. Smart for money now, maybe a loss if he proves to be worth more as he develops. TT is taking all the risk. That 20 mil number will continue to ascend. His contract will be a bargain by the time it's up.

Ri-damn-diculous. Especially since he won't finish his career at Tech.

Do you think there’s nothing in there to cover this scenario? Lol

Do what? Bargain for who?
Texas Tech FB barely breaks even but somehow a guaranteed $5 million to a unknown talent is going to be a bargain? Perhaps if they played in major conference with potential for big time revenue they MIGHT have a chance for a ROI but this idiot booster might as well flush his money down the toilet.
He's raising the stakes for everyone and about to ruin a once prosperous sport.
his money

Imagine believing programs like Tech haven’t been paying players for decades just like everyone else was.

LSU fans crying about football NIL while cheering on Jay Johnson buying baseball players from all over the country is lame.
