Cowboys always bring big ratings. For those of you who think this is rigged, wouldn't the league help the Cowboys advance?

Sunday’s #49ers-#Cowboys game on CBS and Nickelodeon was the most-watched NFL Wild Card game on any network in seven years averaging 41.4 million viewers. The audience peaked at 50.2 million for the game’s wild ending. Another massive number for the NFL.

Can we get a hierarchy of teams the NFL rigs games for in the event they play each other? Does the NFL rig the Bucs/Rams game for Brady or their favorite son, the Rams?

Are the Divisional Rounds through the Super Bowl the most watched games in America each year? At what stage of the playoffs does the NBA Finals or something else potentially top the NFL

You can only do so much when a team looks completely awful for 3/4 of the game then shows life in an 8 minute span of game

Cowboys-49ers is also one of the iconic rivalries in the NFL. "The Catch" ended the Cowboys dominance of the NFC and then the Cowboys ignited their '90s dynasty by beating the 49ers in the '92 NFC Championship Game. That game was always going to be a ratings magnet.

It blows my mind the numbers that the NFL gets.

My interest plummets after fantasy ends but their viewing numbers absolutely boom.

Because 14 penalties with most of them being ticky tacky has no impact on that.

By calling 14 penalties on them so they could tie an NFL playoff record? When is the last time you saw a defensive lineman get called for holding?

The defensive lineman who was obsessed with tackling the 49ers offensive lineman was NOT ticky tack.

NFL snatching up a lot of fans that used to be strictly CFB, but now that CFB is tanking due to severe talent imbalance, the NFL is cashing in. It is refreshing to follow a league with a salary cap and draft after watching the same 5-6 schools dominate in recruiting by breaking the bank and using that talent to dominate their way to a title.

The AFC final 4 features TV markets 29 v 36 and 34 v 53

And since the goalpost moved to its not about ratings but gambling 5 of 6 favorites won this weekend and the 1 dog that covered SF was actually the public team ( more money bet in them)

LOLNO

The delay of game call after the fake punt and substitution delay was frustrating, but that's the rule and it's happened to the Saints this year. For Dallas, it was a problem because they went completely brain dead after the fake punt.

The two other penalties in the link were egregious, gave SF automatic first downs, and kept Dallas from critical TOP in the fourth quarter. There were many other legit penalties on Dallas.

The Cowboys repeatedly displayed a stunning lack of football intelligence and situational awareness, never more so than on the last play of the game.

There are enough schools capable of making the investment to become like Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Georgia. It just seems like most Top 25 programs are happy with putting in modest money to get modest returns. I know UGA was in that boat before Kirby came back.

Josh Pate said it the other day, but it's just about getting the administrations to push the button. Georgia wasn't all in until Kirby got on campus, but it seems like our decision to push the chips into the center of the table paid off.

There isn't some structural system in place that keeps the same 5 teams at the top of CFB, it's just no one outside of those 5 teams has made the financial commitment to exist at that elite level. And it's not like you're burning money by making that investment, in fact the school makes more than enough return on investment.

The NFL is king because it is the most polished form of football. CFB could return to a semblance of its former glory if schools outside of the Deep South would open the bank and play ball.
