We're keeping a lot of guys out and they mentioned we're just rolling the lines. Might lose the game but Thursday is more important.

i wonder how expensive those tickets will be Thursday night. Those Bostonians going to let the Canucks have it during O Canada no doubt.

NBA is going to have to find a way to copy this

I know there are some outside circumstances driving intrigue but this is gonna be the biggest sports story for the next couple of days

USA vs Old Yugoslavia vs France vs Canada

Winning team, each player gets $5M.

Thats the only way to make it even watchable.

Even ignoring the litany of issues “Old Yugoslavia” would create other countries aren’t there yet to make it competitive. At least not with a full strength US roster

It’s also not the novelty international hockey is right now. These teams just played with pros in basketball this past summer. Pros in the NHL haven’t played each other in a decade

In addition, international hockey has always been more interesting as a team sport than just about anything else.

Every tournament or Olympics yields different results.

split the USA into regions based on time zones, East, Central and Mountain/PST cause I doubt Mountain could field an NBA team.

then do an international roster. Can't do single countries cause i doubt the NBA is going to let non-NBA frogs and euros play

That sucks for a variety of reasons, especially since it’s on his home ice.

Still blows my mind that McAvoy's father in law is not only his coach in this tourney, but also the coach of the Penguins.

Thanksgiving must be weird.

Hughes is officially en route to Boston and will play tomorrow night.

Tkachuk bros and Hughes bros going to bring it home boys. Cant overcome that kinda fraternal energy. Its basically like Paris and Hector and Achilles and Patroclus (they were cousins frick off i know) being on the same side against the Persians.

wait, why wasn’t he already on the roster? he’s already one of the best linemen in the league

that’s a really backup to have in this case

His brother Jack was/is. Quinn would’ve originally been but was injured at the start of the tournament.
