This is a huge point. I think they're still top 5 in that stat, even with the natural correction. Meanwhile, Nebraska is ranked in the 90s in regards to turnover margin. Iowa is also one of the least penalized teams in the nation.

Through their first five games (through the Maryland game), they were an incredible +12 in turnovers and had a +108 point differential. In the six games since then (starting with the Penn State game), they're even in turnover margin and have a -10 point differential.

For reference, Georgia's turnover margin for the season is +2.

I think Nebraska is probably the more talented team, but I wouldn't put it past them to find a new and unusual way to gag away a close game.

Adrian Martinez isnt playing according to my nebraska family group text.

Logan Smothers will be in.

At least the 80% chance of Martinez choking is gone.

Nebraska's Qb is out as well. They might actually pull it off now.
Only took nearly 4 years but FINALLY someone other than Bonehead Martinez will start. Frost had better try real hard to get a grad transfer for next season because he's gotta get results or else.

UW has played, and beat, both.

UNL is a vastly better team than Iowa.

If they don't get some turnovers Iowa will get wrecked.

3-8 Nebraska

Greatest 3-8 team of all time.

Some others, per Bill Connelly (S&P Ratings):

2021 Nebraska (3-8, currently 25th)
2000 Colorado (38th)
1991 USC (39th)
1940 TCU (42nd)
1998 Auburn (43rd)
2015 Ga Tech (43rd)

Those teams averaged 7.6 wins the next year

Nebraska has some talent, just needs a QB who doesn't frick up when it counts. It'll be interesting to see who they can land from the portal.

I know it's kind of funny to say b/c their record stinks but they really probably are one of the best 3 win teams ever. They play everyone close. They just never have those late game breaks go their way.

Wait, after OSU, Nebraska’s worst loss of the year in terms of margin of defeat was to…Illinois?

What in the Bert is going on?

Ohio State beat Nebraska by 9 points.

That's their worst loss of the year.

Ouch. That’s just a team who doesn’t know how to win.

Since Nebraska joined the Big Ten

2011 Nebraska 20 Iowa 7
2012 Nebraska 13 Iowa 7
2013 Iowa 38 Nebraska 17
2014 Nebraska 37 Iowa 34 OT
2015 Iowa 28 Nebraska 20
2016 Iowa 40 Nebraska 10
2017 Iowa 56 Nebraska 14
2018 Iowa 31 Nebraska 28
2019 Iowa 27 Nebraska 24
2020 Iowa 26 Nebraska 20

That's 7 of 10 and 6 straight for Iowa. With Nebraska's 4 year starter out for this game. Iowa finally has the right QB playing in Padilla who is better than Petras. Big Ten West and a CCG still in play.

And you all would still take Nebraska.

Oh,and I'll add that Nebraska being favored probably pisses the Iowa players off, so they'll have their full attention this week.

If your players need extra motivation for a rivalry game with a potential big 10 west championship on the line, then they got no shot

A 3-8 team with a +50 point differential on the year. You don’t see that often

I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for them. Like at a certain point you are what you are and you have to stop making excuses but even so they are legitimately 7-8 plays from being a 9-10 win team.

Kind of crazy that this has only happened once for Iowa.
