The 90s was the best decade for legitimately good "kid" movies that are still good even as a grown up. That genre is basically gone or anything marketed to kids outside of straight up animated movies just doesn't have that simple innocence of going out and having a good time with your friends anymore. Maybe I'm feeling too nostalgic about it but it feels like that to me now.

This movie holds up way better than a whole bunch of other even good kid movies from the 90's.

On a 10 scale, 6.2. Not a memorable or very well made movie for me.

Apparently it’s problematic by today’s standards. People who play ball like a girl are triggered AF

Benny the Jet was an amazing two sport athlete. You hear of guys doing football and track, baseball and football, even the occasional basketball and baseball guy.

But how many baseball and ice hockey stars are there?

The Sandlot
Rookie of the Year
Little Giants
LIttle Rascals
Little Big League
The Mighty Ducks
Richie Rich
The Big Green
Heavyweights
Major Payne
Blank Check
3 Ninjas
Angels in the Outfield
Dennis the Menace
Casper
Homeward Bound
Honey I Shrunk the Kids
Beethoven
Home Alone
Hook
Mrs. Doubtfire
Tom and Huck

and you can throw in great 80's ones like Stand by Me and The Goonies

You dont' see great kids movies, with kids as main actors, that kids relate to, without animation, anymore. It's a shame.
