The Austrian GP always seems to be a banger. Can't wait for Sunday morning.

Didn't go to the track since I was traveling during October, but Austria / southern Germany was beautiful with the fall leaves and foggy mornings. The Mercedes / Porsche / BMW museums were awesome as well.

It's on my list of places to see a race. I've hiked a good bit in the Austrian Alps, and it's one of those places you don't believe is real.

It was always pretty high on my list of international races I wanted to attend but someone I know went a couple years ago and it quickly shot up to my #1 option. The pics around the area were breathtaking, tickets were cheap, I believe he paid $1800 for starting straight grandstands facing the pits and got pit walk passes and a meet and greet with Hulkenberg. Did some Porsche driving experience through the mountains as well. By all accounts it seems beautiful and affordable, I’d love to attend.

GP has been sounding like Horner on the radio here recently to me. Had me wondering at times if Horner was coaching him on some stuff.

Looks like the times are a little more spread out here than at some other recent tracks. Yuk is 0.7s behind (and 0.4s behind Max) and still in the Top 10! 
My guess is the high-speed infield corners (and maybe the last two corners) are spreading the field out a bit. Silverstone should be similar with Copse, Maggots-Becketts, and maybe Stowe.

Saw SkySports post that Toto has confirmed that Mercedes is interested in signing Max...
If that takes place, who gets the boot, Goorge or Kimi?
IMO, Max should have jumped to Mercedes last year after the clusterfrick with Sergio.

Oh I think George for sure. He is driving at a high level this year, and he won't accept being a #2 driver to Max. It would not be a smooth partnership at all. While Kimi was not the most impressive rookie in the first half of the season (that would be Hadjar), he has stepped up recently so I think the confidence in him is still high. Kimi will show the appropriate amount of deference to Max and they would get along just fine, at least until Kimi gets to the point where he can challenge Max in qualy.

Also the internal "scandal" with the accusations of abusive behavior, plus the loss of Newey, the upcoming loss of Honda, etc. I agree with you, he should have joined Mercedes this year.
