Interested to see what happened to Sainz that he drove into Perez
It initially looked like Checo veered into him. Though admittedly I am also multi-tasking by wrestling with a soon-to-be toddler this morning, so I need to re-watch.
Either way, for the best. I really didn't feel like hearing Checo feeling himself all over the media because he finished higher than Max for once.

Wut?! Carlos drove right into Checo.

Man, what a race. Piastri was a fricking boss. Calm as a cucumber on the radio after the race of his career so far.
Double Points for Williams!, and not even 9 & 10, but 7 & 8 because of Sainz/Checo.

Checo was having a good weekend, drove a good race for 50 laps, and then threw it away

Haven't seen many views, but I'd imagine it was just a racing incident.
Sainz was ahead and likely didn't see Checo inches away and they drifted into each other.

Damn. Wish that crash had been George and Perez. I hate seeing George gifted podiums

And RPM posts a new video almost at the same time the race ended...diabolical

Just finishing the replay. What was Perez doing?
Great race by Oscar!!

I think it was way better defending by Piastri than his overtake.
Don’t understand how Perez/Sainz allowed that to happen to themselves.
Perez could have moved over an inch and saved himself a DNF.
Reminds me of Monaco somewhat.
But Sainz should have avoided it as he was ahead. Finally.

Watching the replay several times I still have no idea who’s at fault. Checo was going dead straight the whole time while Sainz did move slightly left, but Sainz was up against the wall, so maybe Checo should have given more room.

Just finished watching.
Piastri with the drive of his life.
LeClerc did all he could, but wasn’t good enough in the end.
Lando drove his arse off going from 15 to 4 and picked up 3 points on Max, not to mention holding Checo up during Oscar’s pit stop (team player hello).
A Checo DNF always feels like Christmas.
Williams seems to really be putting it together, and are easy to root for.
What a fun race!
ETA: props to George for hanging around and snatching a podium.

Did checo touch leclerc on the straight before turn 1 right before the crash? Kind of looked like it.
Crazy finish.
Piastri is a machine.
Norris had a damn good day as well.

Whats hilarious is a commentator before the race asked Lando where he would finish and when Lando gave the generic statement the reporter said 4th... Lando laughed.

I blame Sainz for the crash. But this is likely why there is no passing. Too tight and no margin of error.

Needs to happen in quali or the race... If it does and Mclaren doesn't shite the bed, they will be first in constructors after Baku
This comment aged pretty well. Well done!

I realize it’s a boring section for racing, but the castle sector at Baku may be the coolest camera shot of any track on the calendar

Finally getting to watch the race. Piastri is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Always calm and almost never makes a mistake. That late lunge on Leclerc at lap 20 was beautiful.

That was after the contact. They both seemed to veer slightly towards each other and Checo caught Sainz' rear tire with his front tire which caused Sainz to veer left so abruptly. Racing incident.
