I’m pretty sure they’re allowed to this season.

Yup, they changed the order of the Sprint weekend to allow this.

Previously Friday was FP1 and GP Qualy (parc ferme rest of weekend), Saturday was Sprint Qualy and Sprint Race.

Now Friday is FP1 and Sprint Qualy (parc ferme), Saturday is Sprint Race (set-up changes allowed afterwards) and GP Qualy (parc ferme).

Don't know why they cut it so close on time. Looks like LeClerc with an issue to get a SQ3 lap.

I did not know this. Very good.

Europe question. We will be visiting my BIL in Germany next year and want to hit a race. Which one should we look into? I’m leaning Zandvoort but want to know options. Prices, logistics, etc all taken into consideration.

We do not have a specific time yet. Will most likely coincide with the race.

As there are F1 races in Europe from May to September, it would help if we know when you'll be there.

Trip dates will depend on race we choose. Open to all options.

What are you looking for? There are many different things to consider: atmosphere, racing action, history, etc.

Main things are ease of getting in and out of the area, affordability and nearby towns. History and good racing action are always nice.

We did COTA last year and the race was fun and good to be in Austin but the post race traffic was an absolute nightmare.

We don’t have a preference on what country since they all seem to be about the same distance from where he is. Except Spa but from what’ve I’ve seen it’s in the middle of nowhere.

I can't speak much to traffic and ticket prices except for my experience (Monaco and Catalunya). Train travel is very easy to both circuits, which are obviously located near major vacation/tourism areas. You have to wait a little, but nothing major if you're going via train from Monaco to Nice or Montmelo to Barcelona.

The three-day pass to the Spanish Grand Prix I bought last year was $258 for GA. We were lucky to find seats early at a decent spot too. I wish I would've paid $100 or so more for grandstand tickets, however, because the sitting area we were in was very crowded.

If you go to the Spanish GP, be advised they do not sell alcohol on the grounds and you cannot bring any alcohol in. Your bags will be searched. Some people near us were able to sneak in some booze, though.

Neither Monaco nor Catalunya are known for their "great racing action," although Monaco certainly has historical significance. If I wanted to see great racing action, I'd go to Spa. I do not know much about Spa other than the track is awesome. I know nothing of its surroundings, but I do like beer and Belgium is famous for it so I figured I could have a good time.

The two Italian races are interesting. There were some complaints about Imola this year on this board about a lack of "racing action." Monza can similarly become a processional. Both of those races are near tourism areas too.

Silverstone looks like an awesome circuit and spectacle. But I'm sure I'd get kicked out of there for being too full of the ol' Red, White, & Blue on Independence Day weekend. Not their red, white, and blue, ours. It is about 60 miles from London. There is obviously a lot to do there. I just don't think I could handle 100,000 Brits on the weekend we celebrate kicking their lil roodypoot asses.

Zandvoort also looks cool. It is a fast track with a lot of action and the Dutch like to party. It's also just outside of Amsterdam. So, ya know. Coffee shops and shite.

Austria also looks like a cool party if you're into mountains and shite. The race is also usually quite competitive.

The Hungarian Grand Prix has a bad reputation for being boring and without a lot of hard racing action. However, I don't know anyone who has been to Budapest who didn't absolutely love it.

In sum, this is the official Tornado Alley ranking of ahunt1905's 2025 F1 European Race Preference Sheet of Champions:
1. Zandvoort
2. Spa
3. Spain
4. Monza
5. Silverstone
6. Imola
7. Monaco
8. Budapest
9. Austria

Let us know what you decide!

It’s early in the weekend but charles and Ferrari have fallen off a cliff since the win and double podium at Monaco. Actually started to get my hopes up.

Think I jinxed them a while back. Said they needed to get solid points and they both DNF.

Spa
Monza
Silverstone

Those would be my choices. We may do Silverstone in 2025.

They seemed poised to really make a push for the championship, now they’ve been passed by McLaren
