Spa will show us the fastest car soon.

If it doesn't get rained out, if course...

Is McLaren the best car?

Possibly, but Max is the better driver. Lando's best day is Max's average day. Lando has to be perfect every lap of quali and race to have a chance at beating Max.

Yea, but RB and max were managing the gap,
before strat 10 yes. After, no. Max admitted Lando was faster at the end of every tire run and was getting better deg. He threw it away on the start and in the pits.

I’d say McLaren is fastest, Merc is probably right there with RBR.

After 10 rounds, changes in the championship standings:
WDC: Lando has passed Sharl for P2, and Ocon has passed Albon for P16.
WCC: Alpine has passed Haas for P7.

In the Prediction Rankings, for the 3rd race in a row we have a new leader! Tornado Alley has twisted his way up from P4 to P1. Note that the guys behind him, VABuckeye, ApexHunterNetcode, Pitt Road, and pweezy all have higher Driver scores, but Tornado Alley is on top because of an exceptional Team score.

I noticed that Pitt Road easily has the highest Driver score, but a relatively weak Team score relegates him to P4. So I took a look at his scorecard and saw why he had these quirky scores. In the Team ranking he has Alpine at the bottom, which is the major reason his Team score is low. But in the Driver rankings he has both Gasly and Ocon placed higher than both Sauber and both Haas drivers. Therefore he should have placed Alpine above those two teams, and he could have even placed Alpine above Williams (because they only have one driver who can score points, while Alpine has two). If he had given Alpine a placement reflective his of driver position predictions for Alpine, he would have been strongly poised for the rest of the season, but it looks like his Team ranking is going to hold him back.

Oh I wanted to mention that the next round at A1 Ring in Austria will be the 3rd sprint event of this season, after Shanghai and Miami. The last three sprint events will be in October and November in Austin, Sao Paolo, and in Qatar.

That seems like a stretch.

Max could have made a pit stop on the last lap and still beat Merc. Perez is so bad that I honestly don't think you can even factor in how other cars compare to him. I tried to defend him for a while but he's seriously one of the worst drivers on the grid. He's in the best car and on a bad day in the 2nd best car and he isn't even competitive. It's embarrassing, I can't believe they resigned him.

I’ve only ever known it as the Red Bull ring, but feel like I’ve seen it or heard it called A1 ring a few times this year. Know it was previously called that but is there a push to change it again or something?

Thank the F1 gods that they finally put gravel on the last couple of turns of the Red Bull Ring. Easy money is on Sargeant being the first one to dip his toes in and spin out, but that almost seems like too easy money.
