It's a part of the world where they shouldn't be racing, period.

Some teams might be scrambling to fulfill their rookie practice requirements in Brazil because I don't imagine anybody wants to give up Vegas practice time.

Will never happen. Racey Spice has stated such several years back. They need to ditch Perez and get a younger driver that has better hand/eye reflexes to handle that car.

For anyone interested in Liam Lawson news...

Lawson was fighting for a Super Formula title in his first season. At the previous round he made a big mistake at the start of the race and went from leading the championship before the race to finishing the weekend I think 8 pts behind the championship leader Miyata. There was a big gap from the previous round to the Suzuka double-header finale this past weekend. It worked out perfectly for him as he raced in F1 in place of Danny Ric during that gap, and even raced in the Japanese GP at Suzuka, finishing P11. Going into the finale he was fighting for the championship with Miyata and the defending champion Nojiri.

In the first race Lawson qualified P7 while his rivals qualified at the front. So he had his work cut out for him working his way forward. But on Lap 4 two other drivers collided entering 130R, and both had massive impacts with the barrier (one guy was fine, the other got a concussion). Because of the damage to the barrier they had to end the race early, and the final order was the race order on the previous lap, so Lawson finished P6 while his rivals finished at the front (Nojiri P1, Miyata P2). That early race finish really screwed up his chances to mitgate the damage of his poor qualifying.

So before the final race on Sunday, Miyata led the championship with Nojiri 5.5 pts behind, and Lawson 12 pts behind. Lawson had pole position for the finale but had a bad start and a guy named Ota took the lead. Ota ended up getting his first win, with Lawson P2. For Lawson to win the championship Miyata would have had to finished worse than P6, but he finished just behind Lawson in P3 to win the championship. Nojiri finished P4.

Final championships standings:

1. Miyata 114.5 pts
2. Lawson 106.5 pts
3. Nojiri 106 pts

This is the second big championship I know of that Lawson almost won as a rookie. The other was the 2021 DTM championship.

Didn't get to watch the race yesterday. Was there any theory/discussion on how Hamilton was able to make this Mediums last that long in the final stint after the red flag despite fighting with LeClerc for a few laps? Did Russell cook his Mediums faster when fighting for position, but somehome Lewis managed to nurse it to the end?

I think part of it was Hamilton was in clean air for the rest of the race, so after he got far enough past LeClerc and gave up on chasing Max after about 30 seconds, he was in a good spot to where he could keep the temps down. Also, I think I heard a comment made at the end of the race that Ferrari was having issues keeping the car cool enough, so they couldn't push like they had hoped.

Sainz caught up to Alonso Love it.

I submit to yall once again that LaGOAT is actually a better driver than Logan Sargeant. Although he still as time to match LaGOATS brilliant 2 point 2022 season (in a slower car btw). I swear the only time you see Sargeant now is him walking in the pit lane with his fingers in his ears because the cars that are actually still racing are too loud.

Wreck was turn 1. Whats funny is the fans cheered him all the way around the track. And it was his only lap. Driving back to pit to retire.

A lot of fans left at the red flag too.

I don't know if this is "the rumour" being teased, but I'm hearing that there is a risk that Abu Dhabi might not be going ahead amid serious security concerns due to the situation in the Middle East Clearly that's an evolving situation. With that race a month out I'd be surprised if this is the thing everyone is talking about. Among other things it would make Las Vegas the season finale

Yemen has been getting froggy lobbing missiles over Saudi at our Jew friends.

Could lead to a debris caution due to shite falling out of the sky.

Apparently Ichabod was having issues with his brakes getting hot when following. That effects the tires as well.

Hulk had the same issue when he was following Albon for a number of laps. His engineer called out the hot brakes and sure enough he faded the rest of the race.

Mag had a similar issue too, causing his failure. His was from defending instead of following.

KMag had a suspension failure. Likely a toe link as in the pic I posted you can see the left rear tire is not pointing the right way at the start of the spin.

Unless they determine starting order, they are useless.
