I don’t see what red bull has to gain by keeping him the rest of this season. They should move up the next driver and get him some seat time.

Danny ric coming back soon too….

He's still in second in the points. Ham taking himself out helped Perez with that.

They may want to try and get him to the end of the season and hope he holds on.

Also, he has some Mexican sponsors and the likelihood of him getting canned before the Mexico race would seem remote. They'd probably need Cartel security if they shitcan him before that race.

Stroll has been outscored by his teammates 484-241 in his career. The only teammate he ever outscored was Sergey Sirotkin 6-1 in 2018.

Just thought that was funny.

Checo is 100% finishing the year with RBR. I don’t feel like that’s in question.

You’re probably right but I put nothing past Darth Helmut.

I feel like checo and danny ric are the same person though. Theyre statistics are very similar, so I dont know if it would benefit RedBull to put Ric in a seat.

I think Ric is at the point of his career where he just wants to drive a car he’s comfortable in and be a good teammate. He knows he can’t win a drivers championship but I think he wants to be on a team shooting for constructors trophy. I think that’s exactly what RBR want in a second driver to Max. They just need someone consistent and Checo isn’t that. With Merc and McLaren starting to get their cars competitive, they need consistency from their second driver next year if they want to secure constructors again

How many problems would be solved if Helmut just went away?

I liked the quote “Red Bull actually fired him but he just kept showing up anyway and no one has the energy to tell him to frick off”

He has to be contributing something. Experience should count for a lot, but if he's just stuck in his ways, that's not good.

He technically isn’t even part of the team. When he made that comment on “South American racers” people were furious and asked Horner WTF and he said “he is an advisor to our parent company, he has actually isn’t a part of my department so no comment” which further angered people

Christian actually reported to Helmut before Dietrich died. Not sure what the new power structure is, but he must still have a lot of power, because he made the call to hire/fire Devries.

If Danny Ric is the guy, why wouldn’t they just swap those two and get Ric extra real world time in the RB since it means nothing at this point?

Several reasons that I can think of...

*They genuinely want Checo to finish P2 in the WDC, that would be the first time they win WCC, WDC, and P2 in WDC. In the Vettel era Webber achieved P3 3 out of 4 times, P6 in 2012. Checo is currently 30 points ahead of Lewis. Also, I read the other day that it's quite possible for Lewis to finish P2 without ever having won a race, which would be the first time the P2 finisher went a whole season without a win.

*There's no real benefit to giving him the boot now, they'd already have to eat his 2024 contract plus lose out on the sponsorship $$ he brings. Putting in Daniel for a few races isn't really going to give them anything. They have enough sim data to know what they have/don't have in Daniel, so I doubt that move happens before 2024.

*They WANT Daniel at AT for the rest of the season. 1) He gives them a better shot at scoring points, hopefully catching Haas for 9th in the Constructors, they're 7 points back right now. 2) Probably most importantly, AT is about to announce a rename/rebrand, so they want one of the sports most popular drivers in that spot to get eyeballs their way, push the new branding, etc. Even if it's just short term through the end of the season.

the quote machine continues. someone from the board needs to give him a call

Guess who's dating Berger's daughter? Danny Ric.

And because we have rules:

A week to go before the US Gran Prix at Circuit of The Americas and a quick search shows there's a huge amount of available tickets on Stub Hub, Seat Geek, SI Tickets and Ticketmaster.

Prices should start dropping, soon.

ETA: looked at turn 12, still the same price, maybe a bit more expensive, than 2 months ago when some friends bought theirs. Still at least 2x face value.

Gen admission doesn't sell out.
