My guess is the car has been developed more for max as the year has progressed. RBR is well ahead in the constructors, and checo still has a year left on his contract. Realistically I don’t see any changes this year.

I’m sad we haven’t had more yuki random meltdowns during the broadcast

They aren't replacing the #2 in the drivers championship without someone much better in the wings.
Albon looks like one of the best drivers on the grid right now. He's bound to get some interest from RB or Ferrari.
I think Aston Martin has come back down to reality and this is probably more of what they are going forward. I don't think they have a shot at a #2 finish and probably tops #4.

Crofty said yesterday the AM car wasn't great at Silverstone or Catalunya, but was expected to be better at the Hungaroring.
Anyone here with any knowledge why?

It's a high downforce track.

he is also feasting on having a weak teammate in sarge.

ELI5, please.
Hungaroring has much more slowed turns. I think it's called something like Monaco without the yachts.
I can't speak to the specific technical reasons but I'd assume AM just does better at these tracks compared to the faster tracks.

Marko said Albon is under contract through '25, iirc. Not that F1 contracts mean much, but they'd have to really want him. I'm also selfish in that I like him at Williams.

Monaco without the walls.
To give an idea, Ocon held on to a win here (2021) despite being a much slower car. Same race Max was able to recover several laps with half his car missing.

I really like this idea. I usually want any rookie to be given a full season to get it together, but the lack of support from Helmut is very telling. Red Bull has many decisions to make regarding Perez, Ricciardo, Yuki, de Vries, and probably Alex Palou. If they replace de Vries with Ricciardo at the break, they will get a much better sense of where Danny and Yuki are, and whether one might be able to replace Perez next year. This might help them decide to put Palou in the AlphaTauri next year. They're probably too risk averse to put Palou directly in the Red Bull.

Palou isn't even in the Red Bull program. Not saying he won't be signed, but they have Lawson ahead of Palou to think about.
Lawson may technically be "ahead" of RIC.

I hope Williams is on the rise, but I'm not really putting much faith into that. He's been pretty impressive here lately especially considering they said it's not a very easy car to drive.

The fact that De Vries at 28 is older than the majority of drivers probably isn't working in his favor.

A lack of consistency has pretty much been his MO at every stop.
He just doesn't have the chops
