It'll be interesting to see Ric vs. Tsu. The AT car is a fricking tractor, but Yuki has more experience with it.

Like someone said, Marko is to blame for this, but he will bury Nyck rather than take any heat himself.
Another driver career murdered by Marko.

quote:I'm willing to cut him a little slack because he was much more competitive his first year there, and it's clear from McLaren's offseason and beginning of this season that they've been well behind the curve for a while. Ricciardo's said to be very particular about his car setup, so perhaps McLaren just couldn't accommodate him.
how completely abysmal he was at mclaren the previous 2 years
I agree, however, that overall he's never lived up to the hype but is a very likeable guy.

Danny gets an audition but they can still keep Checo next year if they want or go with one of the handful of other possibilities.
I want RB to go all in and buyout Alonso
Would pay good money to see Alonso and Max battle

Daniel Ricciardo will make a sensational return to front-line Formula 1 racing at the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix, with the Australian set to replace Nyck de Vries at the AlphaTauri team for the rest of the season.
Ricciardo was in action today at Silverstone, driving Red Bull’s current RB19 car in a Pirelli tyre test.
But it’s now been announced that Ricciardo – currently Red Bull’s third driver – will take the place of De Vries from Hungary onwards at AlphaTauri.

- Decision to sack De Vries done earlier than expected after sim data comparisons between Daniel, Yuki and Nyck - Nyck did not hit sim benchmarks set by Yuki - Nyck was given a few more rounds to try and hit those benchmarks on the track 1/4

- Sponsors saw Daniel more profitable, and seen as key to AT's rebranding - Liam is still part of Red Bull's future - Liam's success in SF exeeded expectations - Helmut does not want Liam's development interupted mid season, combined with how poor the AT04 is
quote:
Liam's road to F1 - Depending on Daniel's performance post Hungary, Liam will be given the AT seat in 2024, or found another seat a la Albon - If none of these occur, he is 100% secured the future AT brand seat in 2025

- RB is very sure that Honda wants to take Yuki with them to Aston Martin, hence why he is seemingly not part of Red Bull seat plans - Also why Helmut has honestly mentioned, they do not have a replacement for Checo - So far, Checo is still safe until the end of his contract

WOWOWOW. Danny is back. That is going to be a hilarious Netflix episode. Can already picture it now.
Danny sneaking back into his chair in front of the camera. "Hi guys."

DTS just wouldn’t be the same without him.
He also was Max’s best teammate imo.

Unless there’s plans for another team to run the Honda PU besides Aston, I agree. Stroll is as safe as anyone, and unless something drastically changes with Alonso then Yuki might be SOL.

Sources say Ricciardo was impressive in today's Pirelli tyre test with Red Bull, his first drive in 2023 machinery, and that his best lap would have been good enough for the front row of the grid in Sunday's British Grand Prix.

I assume Daniel won't make the run at the ring now.
Have to wonder if Seb was brought in that far back for this eventuality.
